And you play as Jimmy Pegorino? Go to the LCPD's site on the ingame Internet. Bring up Niko Belic's profile, it says
"2008 - Grand Theft Auto". I lold (he's in Grand Theft Auto so that's what his profile say's lol.

But then I looked at other key characters and when I get to Jimmy Pegorino's page it say's "1973 - Grand Theft Auto" o_O. I know it's most likely just a thing they threw in for the data base but still. What if (and this is just some random speculation) The next GTA will be set in 1973 and you'll play as a younger Jimmy Pegorino?

I have no objection to this if it plays out. I like Jimmy as a character, I love the 70's as a time period, great cars, great music, great atmosphere and I would like more backstory for the Peg.

Like I said probably nothing but weird it still is.

What, so cause on another character's page it says "1973", that must mean the next GTA game is going to be in the 70s?

No because it say's 1973 - Grand Theft Auto Like Nikos say's 2008- Grand Theft Auto.

Either you joking or you don't like reading post's much.

You do realise the term 'Grand Theft Auto' refers to the crime, right? As in vehicle theft?

Depends if it's capitalised. If it actually says Grand Theft Auto rather than grand theft auto, then maybe Shoes_Butthole or whatever is on to something here.

Except for the PSP games, the protagonists have always been new characters. I prefer it that way, so hopefully we play as someone new. Though I wouldn't mind the 70's.

If they go with the same multi-era approach then it'll be interesting to see how they handle the cell phone, it's become a vital part of the game.

Well the term is capitilised, but so is every other type of crime I can see.

Plus I just had a little butchers at the LCPD database myself, and basically every other name has 'Grand Theft Auto' listed under their commited crimes. That said, I wouldn't mind a 70's GTA game at all.

Wow Shoes_Butthole very clever Reginald. Unfortunatly I'm not blessed with the sharp tounge of wit that you seem to have so I'll just call you a douche and be on my mary way.

Fixed.

*giggles, runs away*

Grand theft auto simply refers to the theft of a car, if you listen to the police radio when you steal a cop car you hear them say 'suspect committed a grand theft auto south Bohan' etc. I don't' find it even remotely suspicious other criminals have stolen cars, nor would I jump to that conclusion! Are you aware that is what GTA means Shoebutt?

But is it called Grand Theft Manual if the car that's stolen is manual rather than automatic?

OH HOHOHOHO SEE WHAT I DID THERE?

Auto means automobile, not automatic, you blithering idiot.

jk

Oh, well sorry for being unable to read poorly constructed posts.

But like others have said, do you even know what it means?

I think what you're looking at is the year that the crime took place.

Grand Theft 8 year old Girl

What I saw when I looked up Pitz' profile.

i saw a profile in the LCPD of a rapist....how fun will THAT be to play

Your not indulging me in any way. Your flaming me. Which I don't mind, yeah I made another bad thread like you haven't? Yeah I seem to make them frequently but I'm still new and don't get you guy's yet. Well, atleast some of your aren't pricks like Raziaar, Willie....well that's sad. Only two people who are accommodating to noobs? I guess that's the internet for you. Well, thanks you two.

I'm abandoning this thread but not before planting a few C4 charges. I suggest you leave this thread too. They'll detonate in nine post's.

You're a spam hound. Almost 600 posts in 2 months. That says more than enough tbh. :dozey:

I think the next GTA will be in the 60's. Possibly London.

GTA3: Modern, 80's, 90's

GTA4: Modern, 60's, 70's

I want Vice City. I want tropics. I want 80's. I want bad fashion and I want neon lights.

I don't see any reason why Rockstar would recreate Vice City. They remade Liberty City to match New York but they can't do the same with Vice City as it was already heavily based off Miami.

QFT, I personally cant see the next Vice City set in any other era than the 80's, I know the mobile phone is an integral part of GTA 4 but I wont care if im walking around with one of these

Grand Theft Auto World War II.

Heh, no... but a GTA game in Germany with several cities and with the autobahn would be awesome. Later technology I guess, when they can make a world larger than San Andraes with as much density as GTA IV.

How about a GTA IV game in the early time of the automobile... with ****ing Ford Model Ts!

And seriously guys, lighten up on the OP.

BOOM! The charge's have detonated. Good job Raziaar you've killed Kadayi, Druckles, Neptuneuk, Xendance, Psycho, Samon, Comoxer and your self.

I think the 70's would be real cool.

Imagine... they dressed like pimps already!

instead of the cellphone, they could have payphones (they used to have those everywhere back then). I'm not sure how you would know to use one, but they could give you a clue onscreen, 'You should call [John Doe] now and see ..."

the cars from the 70's could be sweet, and so would the environment.

the 60's would be more like Mafia

I would prefer the 60s, actually, but the 70s are good too.

I would hate the 70s. I really am not sure what they can do unless they pull a Back to the Future 2 on us and go into the future for Grand Theft Hoverauto!!

Anything older than the 80's would be a bit stupid, I like the whole pay phone idea but none of the "Oh shit I'm being ambushed help me out" stuff could happen unless they happen to get ambushed near a pay phone, plus you can't really be called at any time. I'd rather just have 90's Vice City and 80's San Andreas, see how Tommy ended up after he took over and what Grove Street was like back in the old days.

I believe they had Walkie-talkies during that period. I don't see how that would be a problem. That concept was even used in GTA London. Personally, i would love the next GTA game to be a remake of those two expansion packs.

GTA in the 2080s.

Epic theft of flying cars.

Exactly. It's just brimming with cool.

Perhaps the next GTA could be set in Anywhere City from GTA2?

Sensible post. They've invested a great deal in enhancing the game play of the franchise through the use of the mobile phone, going anywhere before the late 80s early 90s isn't likely. The next aspect to consider is the global visibility. Any future game/expansion has to be set in a City of one kind or another that possesses global recognition (I'm not seeing many people rushing out to buy GTAIV:Salt Lake City Stories). Miami was a good choice because the place and the time period had a very recognizable vibe due to Scarface and the Miami Vice TV show. The same is true of San Francisco, Los Angeles & Las Vegas, we've all seen them featured in countless films & Ttelevision shows. The problem Rockstar face is what other Cities are there beyond those, that tap into that universal perception? Personally I can't think of any in the States. Outside of that I'd Say London, Paris, Rome & Berlin might be viable. Though how much scope there is to make a Euro-centric GTA based game is debatable.

Londons kind of been done with the Getaway, although I expect Rockstar could probably do a better Job. Paris would be spectacular, but unless you've either been there of watched a lot of French Cinema it probably would be lost on you, plus the language aspect would be an issue. Same goes for Rome & Berlin too.

I'd say that Los Angeles probably offers up the most scope for a future expansion, simply because large as San Andreas was, it hardly measured up to the reality of LA, and there's a lot of untapped potential there.

I like the idea of GTA Paris though, made me think of this:-

Bear in mind when watching, although it's on film, it's not a film ;)
