I've got a friend that's telling me that in NFSMW, when your car hits a ramp and goes flying and then lands..... the cd soundtrack will skip a beat... is this true?

That doesn't sound right... I believe when you ramp, it goes in slow mo, and the music is muted.

You are correct i was just playing and it goes in slow mo and the music stops.

I might get this game. Demo was pretty fun.
What does the game sound like? I have no sound at the moment...

Not more NFSs! /clasp face like Mr. Home Alone.

After underground, I lost EVERY bit of respect. That was a horrid game.

Now burnout 3, that's a racing game for men. Nothing like ramming cars, making them crash into bus's fulla people, and seeing it catch ablaze to get the day started.

I bought this game for the Xbox 360. Just waiting for my system to come out now. :)

The game itself sounds great. I've just bought it and installed it. I really like the soundtrack to this game a lot.

The sounds are good.

not as old as CptStern.... he's fuggin ancient...

I've followed the series through The Need for Speed, Need for Speed II, Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed: High Stakes, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, Need for Speed Underground, and Need for Speed Most Wanted... the only one I skipped was Underground 2. Why? Well, because I really disliked Underground. IMO, it's when the series took a big turn for the worse. I preferred the emphasis on high performance exotics rather than ugly, riced-out cars covered in decals, logos, body kits, neon lights, etc. The presentation is of a high quality... but the subject matter really turns me off. Luckily, there are still some exotics and muscle cars in there, but they just don't seem to fit in with the rest of the game (moreso with the former). I only play Most Wanted because it has practically zero competition in the PC gaming sector.

I've also played most of the Burnout series. Those games are tons of fun. None of the NFS games can match the sense of speed and tension when you're doing a burnout through traffic going the wrong way. It's just crazy-fast... and the crashes! Oh, the crashes are a delight to behold... so much so that they got their own game type.

I would rather drive a 67 Camaro instead of a "Muscle Car #1"

Burnout might be the shittiest racing game ever, the only reason it can still be called a racing game is because it has cars.

It's bad just because they didn't want to deal with licensing real cars? That's funny, because Burnout 3: Takedown and Burnout Revenge both scored higher, on average, than any Need for Speed game in the entire series. So, according to just about everyone else... it's not quite "the shittiest racing game ever." In fact, far from it, some reviewers hailed them as being the best arcade racing games ever made. Oh well, to each his own...
