Gonna end up being pretty retarded if they actually go ahead with this, IMO. There are some things in anime that will look ridiculous in a real movie (i.e. blue hair and 100-foot long guns). :dozey:

And how messed up is this:

You'll notice that some of the images have the names of the Japanime characters changed - e.g. Rei Ayanami = Ray, Asuka Langley = Kate Rose and Misato Katsuragi = Susan Whitnall.

NGE was the 2nd best anime I've ever seen.
 
Well done? What are you guys talking about? If they keep it close to orinal, it won't make any money. There is only one way, to make NGE movie about FIGHTING ROBOTS! Yay, I would see that.
 
some people i come said that the movie got a 109 million $ budget...thats more than the first LOTR movie. Kinda sweet if you ask me :)

But then again... it wont be anime anymore :/
 
Haha, what a waste of money. :)

I'm pretty sure they are gona "Americanize" the movie in almost every way, at the very least by removing all the psychological stuff which made it interesting. Oh, and the Eva pilots are suppose to be 14-year old kids, not fat 30-year olds.

Yeah, just look at the names...

Anime = cartoon for smart people

If they gonna try to make that into a hollywood movie... well... it wont be the same thing... because Hollywood= movies for braindead people :)
 
I never saw NGE but all the fanboys at 4chan have been crying about how their gonna ruin it.

If they keep the psychological effect it would be great, but then people wouldn't understand the movies.(I hear it's going to be a trilogy)
It would be like Matrix. I loved the first one, then the others banked on the name. Morons didn't understand the first, but loved the sequels....
And Memento is a perfect example, stupid people got lost in the movie.
As for changing the names, that is kinda sore of them. But, it's understandable.

I still look forward to seeing these movies.

Oh, and for you who bear high intellects, I would suggest watching Pi.

Yea I heard that also... ... ugh I like DBZ and all but.... ugh... ill give them the benifit of the doubt
 
I hope I never see any anime being made into a movie. Especially mediocre ones like Hellsing and DBZ.

Then again, I don't wanna see them ruin the good ones either. :(
