Nice Range Meet -Nice Guns-

I'm supposed to be liberal and against guns in general...but damn that's cool. at the woman with double G3s (I think they are anyway).

Hehe I got a kick outta her too. This made me miss being a little kid though, I miss family outings like these, had them all the time before (not just guns :P but in general)

lmao, ''rock and roll, rock and roll'', btw was that a mg42 that redhead kid was firing?

Yes it was.

Rainbow Six has taught me that drum mags on assault rifles make them less accurate and harder to handle (because of the extra weight, apparently). True?

Yes a little I believe, from what I've read (I've never fired drum mags though myself, so I can't be certain on the subject) but it's countered by having a lot of ****ing bullets

I think that is correct, the drum mags are more designed for Infantry support rather than general combat situations, i think.

In Rainbow Six, the High-Caps gave some guns(like the M4, G36k, and AUG) more stability. Or was it less stability, but more recovery?

Crazy yanks, but that's why I wonna come over... :P

HK21 or HK23, based on a G3 anyway ;)

Yes. I wonder how these got to the US, WW2-loot maybe. Or it's a regular MG3.

why are they letting kids use guns at such an impressionable age :S ? that would probably have a greater impact on their lttle minds than any video game out there.

That kid with the blue shirt and the mac 10(or whatever it was) was like "WTF! Where's my aimhack!?!?!?1/1/1/1"

Children using guns and being trained in the use of guns means that when they accidently stumble across their parents pistol that was left out, they will be fully able to make the weapons safe. They also would know the power and the brutality that the guns are capable of, however, how they wish to use that power is in what the parents teach them away from the gun range, not at it.

That was an Uzi, the mac10 is like a much smaller version that it. There was also a version of it with quite an impressive looking suppressor as well.

Dunno, but wouldn't more weight equal less recoil?

From what i can think, as long as the weight is balanced, more weight = less recoil. Bit more weight also means less mobile and more cumbersome and hardy to throw about.

Because the best time to teach gun safety, especially if you own guns and ahve them in your house, is when your children are young. It's highly irresponsible for someone with children and guns in their household to not teach their children the highest forms of gun safety and rules. I guarantee you none of these kids would ever be killed because they found a handgun and started foolishly playing with it. I was brought up the same way.

Was that an M1 garand I saw at the end?

the most stupedist thing I have ever seen

yea same with me rakurai first time i shot any gun was at the age of 8. And i know exactly what to do to a gun and what not to do. I know how to check to make sure it is completely disarmed and i def. know how to clean it. On an off topic question aren't tek-9's illegal?? cuz my dad has one...

Depends what state you live in now. In Massachusetts, where I'm from, almost everything's illegal unless you have a special non-civilian license.

Hehe, that was so cool :) If a bit weird, seeing a bunch of kids firing guns. ;)

And Rak,

I read this a few days ago at some other boards I visit, you might be interested so here's the post -

Nice! Thanks a lot!

edit: Wow some steep prices. Maybe they'll let you bring your own ammunition. Even if not still would be fun to attend and fire off 25 bucks worth then just shoot my own or rentals the rest of the day.

ok but if it was done the wrong way it might make the little tike trigger happy. i dont thnk kids should grow up around weapons of any kind theyre not mature enough to make an informed descision about their use.

If a person has kids and guns in the same house they should teach the kids how to use them and the gun safety required. If they don't want to do that, get the guns outta the house then.

Gun accidental deaths were lower apparantly back in the day when gun safety was a course taught in school. I say bring that back! Safety is priority 1

well dont mind me im not used to gun culture.
im just wondering what do u have to do get into one of those ranges ? ...like do u need a license or something how does it work ? ...ive always wanted to fire one of those ..but i have absolutely no experience with guns well other than bb.

Some ranges charge a fee, others you just sign in. They have different rules for each (Some have no fast shooting, some have magazine capacity rules, some have rules on which targets you can use, etc etc)

You don't need any license though. The only license you'd need is a Class III license if you were the owner of one of the machine guns. That's about it that I can think of off the top of my head.

Guns are bad, mmkay? :p

I will stick to airsoft for my violence venting. :sniper:

EDITED with a smiley, to show the jokeyness.

Sweet jesus almighty.

I love the part with the granny shooting a grenade launcher thing.Well that's what I think it looked like.

I'm sure they would be fun to shoot, but I don't think some of those people realize what those weapons are meant to do. 50 Caliber machineguns, MG42s, and all of those guns are intended for killing other people, not for hunting or anything like that. That would make me feel wierd about shooting them. Especially the MG42. That kid might have fun shooting it but tons of soldiers in WWII were on the recieving end of that thing and that was never fun. Just what I think.

ALL automatic weapons are constructed to kill people. That's the point. If I was buying a rifle solely for hunting I wouldn't buy an automatic and probably not even a semi automatic.

As far as shooting weapons you've been shot at with, my bro doesn't seem to have any qualms with firing an AK at the range (aside from any disdain he has for the rifle as a weapon itself :P)

Right, I know that. I'm mostly getting at the MG42/50 caliber thing, though. I'm just saying it's wierd shooting something so symbolic. That thing has it's own place in history and it has killed a lot of people. All weapons have done the same thing, I know. Those weapons just stick out a little more if you know what I mean.

Kind of, but many types of swords or even other weapons have too, people don't get those feelings about them.

Probably not, but it would still be a lot of fun in that type of setting. Although I gotta admit, whenever I have to go qualify with my M16, a similar thought runs through my head. It's a strange thing to be trained to take another's life, so I try not to dwell on it. Instead, I focus on the task at hand.

so if i just sign in its free :S ?? btw do they have instructors ? or are u suposed to know what ur doing.
