Howcome you still fight with aliens in HL2? I mean, Gordon did destroy 'em in the end of HL. And another Question: In OF 2, will Stepphard play a Combine Soldier?

you still fight aliens because they magically appeard after nhihlanth died

in Opposing force 2 you wont play sheperd because he died in blue shit exapnsion at the end.

...

That's obviously a joke, but to prevent confusion:
No one knows why the aliens are back but, so far, they are not the intelligent Nihilanth ones.
Shephard did survive the end of OF1, but there has been no OF2 announced yet.
We can only speculate until more info comes, or the game is released.

Well if he does he'll be physically and maybe mentally modified in someway. Since the Combine are definately physically modified humans (these are guesses i havent seen beta or anything but i'm confident they are)

Who said Gordon destroyed all the aliens in HL? He only was in specific areas of Xen. Even when the U.S. Army went into Xen, there is no proof (that I know of at least) that they were all killed. G-Man even stated (paraphrasing) "we have control of Xen... for now at least."

Well, thats a decent guess. Combine could mean a combination of two or more things--two different species or humans and technology. But Combine could also mean it the manner a farmer might use it, as a piece of machinery. The huge black/gray tower seen in the first Strider video may well be the Combine...a machine that cuts, threshes, harvests, etc... but instead of crops, it would be used on cities or planets.

I've never heard of Marines on Xen...where exactly?

in the train sequence at the end of Half-life, you see a part of xen, where a battle has taing place and marines and aliens had fought each other (burning abrams, marines lying on the ground etc.)

what makes you think this? i have seen nothing that makes them look non-human...

Since when did being Physically modified make you look non human.

The Combine ARE part human/part machine, all you kids who keep sayin they're human need to just deal with it...they aren't...not completely anyway.

Well, how can you say for sure? There's no direct evidence for it... unless it's info from the "beta", which is frowned upon here as it would be a spoiler...

reply to reaperman and brian damage:

yes you both are correct there is no direct evidence what so ever.

(the below isn't from the illegal/stolen/beta/alpha/whateveryouwannacallit, it's from my own personal opinion. But maybe it's convincing, so i masked it.)
But it's my idea that since we've already been fighting human soldeirs in HL1, Valve have decided to make us fight something different in some way. Then atleast people cannot say "in HL2 you fight the same type of enemies as in HL1" or something like that.

Beeeeesides.. imagine if they were just human. There's nothing interesting about humans! we see them everyday! Yeah you can make an interesting storyline about A human, but an army... no way. They'll have to be special/different in some way to be interesting.
