pencil on paper:1 1/2 hour(s)
Post-work:5 mins

Im finally trying to change the way i shade things. My old style kept me going for hours on end on even the simplest of drawings.

very good. Although he seems to be holding an invisible sword... it's good

That caught my attention, reflections are not always easy at all......same with shadows, its not something the brain normally thinks about.

I think the main tip there is to be more subtle on the reflection
If you look at this london pic here you will see that the reflection in the water is only just noticable, if it was any more contrast it would make it look odd.

A few mins work with a rubber would sort it out.

There's a reflection in that water?

But they are different medians

There are different ranges and styles of reflectivity. It depends on whether it is a rushing river or a silent pond. I believe that a person that looks onto art must practice his or her eye to notice certain features in a piece that would otherwise make or break the composition in order to fully grasp what the art is conveying.

The shading and depth of the picture looks great, but if I could make one criticism, it would be that the hands looks slightly too small, especially in comparison to the eyes.

What you say is very true, but I couldn't really make out the last part of that paragraph, because the sentence was way too long to comprehend... ! hehe

Thanks for crits, what the last sentence explains is that a person needs to train their eyes to notice certain details in a piece in order for them to comprehend what the art is conveying.

Very nice style, but i dont like the hair at all. :/

his hands are small as child's ones. weird.
