Nintendo announces DS Lite

I have been holding off buying a Nintendo DS for a few weeks now due to rumors of a redesign so this is a welcome announcement for me. I also love iPod'ish it looks.

Definitely getting this once it is released.

Its definitely worth a look, but do you have a PSP or have you ever thought of getting one? I am having trouble deciding which to get, but perhaps this will change my mind? You'll have to post your review of it once you get it! :thumbs:

this is exactly what happened with the gba, the first version sucks and then they released the ds which was far superior. if I were going to get one, which I'm not, but if I were, it's definently worth it to wait for this one.

PSP = too expensive and not enough games so no I won't be getting one.

Also there are rumors that Sony will be comming up with an upgraded PSP sometime this year anyway so even if I did want one I would still hold off on it until it becomes clear on what Sony is planning.

As for posting a review of the DS lite the problem is it still won't be released for awhile. No anounced north american date and even in Japan it won't be released until March 2. So no new portable system for me for a little while longer.

That is one of the stupidest and least thought out statements I have ever heard. I'm not even going to tell you the problems with what you just said...I'm just scared

I'd get it if it had some really long well written replayable rpg's on. why cant they port the baldurs gate or fallout games to these things?

This is ****ing great, now a lot of Nintendo fanboy's will sell their old ds cheaply on ebay to buy this. And I get to play Nintendogs every day.

Well its kind a two-edged sword on Nintendo. If they release an update without any great improvement, they get called out for "milking" it, but if they make the update too big then they annoy past customers.

And if they don't update at all, they lose a lot of potential business.

Never looked at it that way, I always thought it was just the milking thing.
