Nintendo DS Lite: $129.99
Mario Kart DS (used copy): $29.99
Protective case: $5.99
Protective screens: $4.99

Total cost: $170.96

Amount of time I played this game: About a week.
Number of games I want to play on the DS: zero.

Buyer's remorse: priceless.

I could have burned those $170.96 and felt about the same way I feel now... Maybe better, because once I burn the money it is gone. With the DS Lite, I will age knowing that this thing gets more and more obsolete every single day of it's existence.

I feel bad. I'll let this experience serve as a lesson to stay away from the Wii.

Guess ya should have thought it through a little more, hu?
:P

But seriously, check out some of the other games.

Well, if you don't like Nintendo games, that was a pretty stupid buy :p

Wow. There are SO many other good games out for it that you saying it sucks because you are tired of Mario Kart is fuggin absurdly idiotic.

Do a search on this site for threads about good DS games to get and maybe think about something before you invest in it.

Aye, not the smartest move :)

I'm still enjoying mine - was playing MK with a few friends tonight infact.

Sounds like somebody is prone to impulse buying. Keep it in your pants next time.

JNight, I was hoping there were better games out there.... But yeah, I should have researched the subject more carefully. I wonder how much I can get on ebay for this bundle

Give the Castlevania titles a whirl, ive heard good things from respectable friends/gamers.

I'll give u $60

There's a load of good games for the DS. It sounds more like they either aren't to Zepplin's taste, or he doesn't know about them.

I don't spend hours and hours playing DS games, but do have regular short sessions. It's a great way to kill time if you're bored, on the train, or with friends. A few games of Bomberman and let the insults start flying.

what good titles are there out there?

New Super Mario Bros -- already played and beat it.
Big Brain Academy -- already played it.
Mario Kart DS -- Still kind of fun, but for how long?

Tetris DS? I can play Tetris for free on ebaumsworld
Metroid Prime Hunters? Everyone tells me the single player sucks
Nintendogs? It does not sound like a lot of fun but...
Animal Crossing? Sounds like the Sims. Boring.
Cars? This one sounds interesting but probably not quite as fun as Mario Kart DS
Super Mario 64 DS? I don't like Super Mario 64
StarFox? I don't like Star Fox.
Lego Star Wars? Nope
Super Princess Peach? Sounds interesting...
Sonic? I heard it sucks
Clubhouse games? Maybe.

That's it. I can't think of any other game. I have actually thought about buying Super Mario 3 and Super Mario World for the Gameboy Advance....

Also, this thing has been around for 2 years now. In 2 years it will be obsolete. Does Nintendo plan to release any new good games for it?

Exactly. I don't have marathon gaming sessions with it, but when you're on the go, or just have a bit of free time, it's perfect.

Yea, I feel like you, except the Wii bit.

You'd certainly make back a fair amount of your cash if you flogged that bundle. On the other hand I doubt you'd get much for the ashes of $170, although stranger things have happened.

The DS and PSP are absolutely fantastic here, wireless LAN play makes it a blast and just about everyone and their mothers has a portable in Hong Kong.

As for lack of games, well you should've done some homeworkbefore buying it... :|

The Castlevania ones are great. But if you can get your hands on Phoenix Wright, then you will not regret it. Its lawyer adventure game. And it kicks ass.

I hate anime and i loved this game. It really is awesome.

I'll take it off your hands....but I can't pay you...

sea I'd still be playing Mario Kart if I had a wireless internet connection. I had the DS search for an internet connection and it only found my neighbor's, but I couldn't guess his 5-digit wep number :D

I like games like Half Life; Halo; Doom; Quake; Far Cry; GTA (should have bought a PSP, I know); the new Prince of Persia games; some racing Games, like Mario Kart; and perhaps even Tomb Raider, though I have never played any of the games in that series but I imagine they are like Prince of Persia games I mentioned. I also like puzzle games like some of the ones I had in my old NES. I wish I hadn't sold it like 10 years ago though :D

I think I might like Metroid Prime Hunters but everyone tells me the single player sucks.

Lies, the moral is DS>PSP but threadstarter doesn't like DSs.

I think I might like Metroid Prime Hunters but everyone tells me the single player sucks.

Oh, and if everyone is telling you singleplayer sucks, borrow it off them and find out.

Wait... You live in Hong Kong?

How the hell do you manage a better ping then me on US servers... ?

It's not the DS's fault that you didn't think in advance about whether you actually wanted games or not.

Why on Earth would you get a handheld when your desire is to play computer FPSes and internet puzzle games?

Well...
Tetris DS? Havn't played it. But yeah.. its just like regular tetris..
Metroid Prime Hunters? Single player does suck.
Nintendogs? Gets boring, and the voice thing gets really crappy after awhile, most of the time your dog doesn't even recognise you.
Animal Crossing? Fun. Fuuuuuuuuuuun. Not like the sims at all- theres alot more to do. Although Wi-Fi is a bit choppy and drops. Alot. It is a great game, and was one that was highly waited for and lots of people play it.
Cars? HAvn't played it..
Super Mario 64 DS? You'll only like it if you liked the version from Nintendo 64.
StarFox? Fun.. High replay value, about 12 different endings.. maybe 18, i'm not sure. I only found 2 and sold it to my friend for a 20$ profit.
Lego Star Wars? Glitch-tastic. No fun cutscenes. But the character creator is probobly the only fun thing in it.
Super Princess Peach? ....Just... no...
Sonic? Havnt played it.
Clubhouse games? What are they?

DL + Emulator for PC, not portable, but still can play it! It's like the only good DS game, anyways..

What? You mean there is a Nintendo DS emulator??

To the point: I thought out of all the 200+ Nintendo DS games out there I was gonna like at least 5, which is the number of games I was planning to buy. I first bought New Super Mario Bros which I then sold online at a $15 discount from what I paid, and returned Big Brain Academy to the store at no cost to me.

Then I took that money and bought Mario Kart, which is a very cool game, but how long can I play the single player until I get sick of it...

By the way. The DS is a great system. It's just of no use to me if I don't have games to play on it. I guess I could get a good deal if I sell it before Xmas. If I recoup 75% of my money I win.

One word man, WiFi! It's a blast when there's 4 of us playing a quick game during a train or bus ride, although I suck at it because I can't get the drifting thing down and I get my ass whooped.
