Nintendo DS to get web browser and TV tuner

http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/02/15/1312202

I love Opera, I often switch between it and Firefox every few months. Anyway the method they will have for displaying web sites on the screens will be this:

Opera will have two modes: fit-to-width mode (similar to what mobile users are already familiar with their mobile phones using the Opera Mobile browser). This mode will use Small Screen Rendering to fit the page across both screens. Alternatively, there is a DS mode which displays an overall page view on the lower screen (where you may use the touch screen to navigate around a sort of "mini map") and read the text on the top screen in full-sized view.

I can't wait for the DS Lite to come out so I can finally get me a DS.

EDIT: I just realized that Nintendo also announced today that it will also be able to watch TV soon:

That sounds brilliant!

Mobile porn!

**** yeah!

i'm seriously considering swapping my old chunky DS for the navy lite one, will it cost me much more?

I just realized that Nintendo has also announed:
The DS will also double as a boob tube, reports the Associated Press. A DS card is in the works that comes with a TV tuner and an antenna for the purpose of watching digital broadcasts. Digital television broadcasts start in Japan in April.

The DS just keeps getting better and better, I love the little guy.

EDIT: Nintendo and Sony news just keeps comming out today. Now someone has discovered by contacting NOA that the Revolution will also be able to browse the internet.

i have a DS and was thinking i would sell it for a psp, but this changes everything! I will be able to surf web and watch cable whenever i want! also, does the antenna go into a game slot?

The DS sounds pretty sweet right now.

Too bad it still can't play Gameboy REGULAR games. /tear

And Sony realises the might of Nintendo...suck on that for thinking you could take away the handheld market from the Big N.
