Nintendo Revolution Rumors...

That have a much better article at IGN.

Some of it sounds exciting and some of it sounds really dumb. Rubbing my controller? No thanks. I prefer to remain heterosexual.
I would hate to see them implement another DS-like gimmick into their next-gen console. They had better know what they're doing.

Stop talking rubbish :/

I don't like the touch-screen. :(
It's fun for mini-games - I've played the ones that come with Mario and really enjoy them - but in a normal game I just find it to be such a gimmick. I'd much rather play with the D-pad than with a stylus.

Hopefully they have some great software coming out soon, because so far I'm not sold on the DS at all. Which makes me sad. I like Nintendo a lot.

"Nintendo has at last shown some of there next gen console, heres what they had to say

"Well, with this new controller, when you want mairo to jump, you dont just press the button, you got to tease him into it, rub the controller, stroke it if you will, the better you are with the controller, the sooner mairo will do as you say"

The best thing about this system, said a Nintendo employee in an interview is that you can pratice rubbing your controller whereever you go"

....Im a bad girl :(

It's silly to make a judgement based on the few games out at the moment - especially as only one of them (Wario Ware) has been designed around the stylus (and is excellent for it - far from a gimmick)

Wait untill a few more titles come out - like Yoshi's Touch and Go.

(Also, imagine playing Advance Wars using the stylus :) for controlling untis in an RTS it should be fantastic. I'm also greatly looking forward to the remake of FF6. The best FF title with stylus control for managing inventroy and selecting options - yes pls)

My bet is the controller has a much more sleek, aerodynamic design, more like a nice long shaft with the top having the most sensors, the two buttons will be attached to the bottom, all you have to do is squeeze those
seriously though, rubbing, touching? WTF?

It's III (the NES game never before released in the US), not VI.

Are you sure?

I thought it was a remake of the FF3 that was released in the US (which was FF6)

The source then added, "Touching is good, but feeling is better."
What? ... something like Alpine's PulseTouch? ... more sophisticated vibration control for the developers (like the stuff Force Feedback promised)? ... an analog stick that can push back if something is resisting you in the game? Tell me now!

That's my understanding as well.

This I totally agree with. It could be truly incredible to play an RTS or a good RPG on the DS (wow, acryonyms...). However, they're not out yet. I guess I'm just dissapointed in their launch titles.

We need Starcraft DS!

"touching is good, but feeling is better"

...

we'll be able to controll mario with our feelings...?

whats is rubing?

I hope is not what I am thinking

Possibly. All speculation. Sounds like a great idea to me though.

Sounds pretty cool. So far my only gripe is the name. I mean... Nintendo 21? It makes very little sense, and doesn't sound interesting.

Assuming that it comes out in early 2006, it would be 21 years since the release of the original NES.

Sounds like a funky vibrator to me

'Former id and Doom designer John Romero (oh okay, fair play, he did Daikatana too...) has gone on record to suggest that it's Nintendo's Revolution which will provide the most innovation in design in the next generation of home consoles.

Speaking to Game Daily, Romero said that he expected all three machines from the next generation to provide plenty of visual fireworks, but that Nintendo's home console would be the most revolutionary of the three (oh - so hence the name).

Here's the word from the horse's mouth: "Expect a ton of graphics of high quality. I don't see any revolutions in game design on the Xbox2 and PS3, but we'll see something interesting on the Nintendo Revolution.'

Brings a tear to the eye. That's quite a name to have singing your praises. Always bet on the big "N". :)
