no fullscreen mode!

Help,

Whenever I try to set fullscreen mode in HL2, or CS:S, it crashes with a memory error, and once I reboot the application, it boots in a window after testing some fullscreen modes. I can't get fullscreen mode with even 640x800 with the lowest settings, but I can run 1024x768 and higher in a window with an average of 40 fps... Any solutions?

System Specs:
Intel P4 2.4GHZ, [533mhz]
2700PC 1 gig. RAM [2x512 dimm]
2x60 gig. HD, 7200 RPM
128MB GeForce 5900XT [XFX]
+Windows XP PRO SP1

Damn... you have a very powerful PC. Anyway, I think ur Vcard is the problem...

I have tried the demo and I the same problem too.

I get a similar sort of error. Although, its much weirder. I get an error when playing at anything above the lowest resolution and full screen on my LCD TV, but it gives me no error when connected to my normal CRT monitor. My error may be different: it says Video Failure, resetting to default values. For some reason, the game decides that my TV cannot handle it. Not sure if that helps any, but if anyone has the solution to my problem, I'd appreciate it. Plus, you might be able to conclude its game related, and not graphics card, if you're trying to run on a TV of some kind as well.
