No Func_ladder??

I am making a counter-strike map and the Func_useableladder doesnt really work =/ I am doing everything right that I know of but its not working. So I tried finding Func_Ladder and it wasnt in my entity list. It should work for counter strike cause its in the Sample map, anyone know whats wrong?
 
Here ya go

func_ladder is a brush entity, not a normal entity. You cannot just create a func_ladder like you would with a light or start point.

First make a brush that is a relative size of a ladder. Say 1w 32l 120h. Use a ladder texture for the brush. Then right click and use "tie to entity" or CTRL+T. Now you will have the option for func_ladder.
 
You don't need to use a ladder texture if you don't want to. Any texture will do as long as its tied to func_ladder.
 
Wait what do you guys mean use the ladder texture?? *mind is boggled* I'm a hammer nub.
 
sorry to jump on this thread, but im having problems too.

i have got my ladder as a static entity
made my func_useable ladder
made my dismount points
linked em

and still nothing!
 
I tried to figure it out for about an hour then after fooling around and screwing the map I decided to head off, and of course like I said I screwed the map so I didnt want to save. I didnt save and I exited I cam back and now the map wont load, says its missing something to do with "{" whatever thats supposed to mean. Now my map is scrapped =/ So nvm about the ladder crap haha doesnt matter anymore.
