What happened to all those random Gman sightings we had in the other games, I diden't see him watching me once. Maybe he's gone somewhere else or something?

Maybe I'm not working for Gman while I'm leaving City 17?
Why is Gman no longer present?
Discuss.

Vortigaunts pissed him off. Those vorts saved Gordon, I think.

Well, you'd think that was kind of obvious. Gman loses control over you at the beginning, and therefore you no longer work for him. Therefore, you don't see him throughout the game.

I assume that G Man doesn't have control of Freeman, making it hard for him to teleport at the locations of Freeman. We can't forget that the Vortigaunts basically took Freeman out of G Man's hands.

In Hl1, the G-man was watching over you, seeing If you were worth employing or not.
In HL2, the G-man was watching you to make sure you were doing what you were supposed to be doing. You are employed by him, he doesnt want you running off or anything.
In Ep1, the G-man has no control over you as youve been rescued. i dunno, maybe the Vorts are blocking him or something.
Its symbolic really, the first Half Life game in which we dont see the G-man at all, apart from the opening scenes.

That's sad. G-man has already become a "symbol" of Half-Life. Gordon and G-man seem to be inseparable, at least in our mind. Moreover, G-man spotting locations have been such a nice, agreeable Easter Egg.

But it is completely contradictory to the story and would be absolutely stupid considering the state of things.

If you really like looking for these things, try looking for the Advisor. It's not quite as good, but there are one or two good scenes; at the beginning of Direct Intervention it's watching you using some sort of huge holographic thingy that vanishes if you get too close...

Actually I think he is instructing the soldiers as to how to overload the core, not watch Gordon.

Valve really attempted to replace the G-man by the advisor. But I think they failed.

Thank god for the Samon's in the world, you've been the only smart person in this thread.

I thought they kept the G-man out of the game so nobody knows for sure the result of the tussle in the abyss. And did anyone notice any vortigaunts during the rest of the game? The battle could still be raging in the nothingness for all we know.

They're gonna do something dramatic in episode 2 about it, even if it's just a cryptic clue from a random vort.

And I wanna see the g-man twisting reality in battle or something, without slowing time. Just throwing portals and kinetic blasts and twisting gravity sideways and all that jazz. Ok, that was rediculous, but an idea for a mod if someone's bored one day.

So who thinks that in the ending of these episodes, Freeman is going to end up back in G-Man's hands in time for Half-Life 3?

Yeah, wow, they totally failed. Nice one.

I think he meant they wanted the advisor to have the same effect on people the G-man had in previous titles concerning mystery and all that.

I hate the G-Man and I hope he is snuffed out by the vorts or dies a horrid violent mutilating death

I'm pretty positive that the G-Man will show up sooner or later to try to get Gordon back or pull up something else out of his sleeve. If he does show himself to Freeman again I don't think he'll be so happy. I still don't think he works for the Combine...he reminds me of Revolver Ocelot a little bit.

I think a boss battle with the G-Man would be interesting if it came to it.

I think Freeman would get owned but I also doubt that Freeman would probably get drug back into his services kicking and screaming

While all you guys say the G-man is gone, this is the most important part of the HL story related to the G-man. And he was still in the game, like he always will be in the HL games.

I think in EP2 both Alyx and Gordon fall from the bridge(trailer) after they see the G-man in the distance, G-man saves Gordon and takes him back. He doesnt save Alyx, because she was supposed to be dead already. While Gordon has

Thank god he's gone. I've become tired of being his little puppet.
It gets old.

In episode 2, you play as the G-man. Gordon is the easter egg.
