No internet..

Im not sutre if this is in the right forum, but i need help. I hear that when you install hl2 you need an internet connection to register on steam. i have 2 pcs. one has internet but one doesnt. Could i install it on the pc with internet to register and then install it on the one without internet? Im on about the retail version of course.

Yes, search the Steam Support page for going into offline mode on multiple computers. You could also buy a simple, cheap network cable assuming both computers have network card/motherboards - in fact, do. I recommend it in general.

Yup ... the HL2 install must be activated on the PC upon which it will be played. Activation is a kind of 'local' setting. You'll only need to connect once to activate, mind you ...

yeh, i am getting networked, but that wont be until TWO WEEKS after half life 2 comes out. I dont think I can wait that long..

duhh :hmph: the whole question was could i register half life one of my pcs with internet, and then play it on the one without internet. But i think i have it sorted. I will just connect my pc up to a modem whilst installing hl2, and then i wont need it any more :naughty:
