Ok, I don't know if you guys already heard of it, I'll just post it.

The German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder (the country's president so to say) right now argues against the EU-China-weapontrade-embargos, which prevents China from buying military technology from Europe. When I read about this it was pretty unbelievable, since this is a very obvious act of trying to boost the armament's economic situation. I don't have anything against China and usually support the partnership with them, but I don't know about selling them the most advanced military knowledge to improve their anyhow vast power...

I find this to be a rather corrupt thing somehow... I didn't expect this at all.

(I only have german sources so far, sorry. Gonna post foreign ones if I find some)

Oh, forgot something: Schroeder's not the next Hitler... :upstare:

I think weapons should be left out of the relationship between China & Europe. The E.U. is China's largest trading partner so the relationship is quite strong anyway.

Yep. But I suppose the people attacking the embargo are somehow involved in the industries' managements... what other reason would there be? :)

Unless that start improving the democracy, I'm against breaking the embargo. Although it could give a nice boost to Europe's economy and provide pleany of jobs, both in Europe and in China, so I'm not sure.
