No text on steam ID verification

Hi,
I bought the game yesterday and the installation seems to have gone fine up until I ran steam the first time. There are no text on the buttons (which still works) and I do not seem to be able to type anything in the blank fields.

I could only read the text when steam was updating.

This seems really strange to me, so I tried with a couple of different drivers for my graphics card and also tried reinstalling steam. I also downloaded the version of steam that can be found on the net, but the problem persists. I haven't been able to find anyone else with a similar problem.

I am running the game on a laptop with the following specs:
Intel P4 2.8
ATI radeon 9600 (mobility)
1024 RAM
I am currently running the latest omega drivers for this card, but I also tried with the old official ATI drivers.
Please help, I really want to play this game right now.

Thats not a video driver issue I would think, because text is not a rendered item. If I had to guess, I would suspect you are missing your steam fonts.

Check out this and see if it helps.

Yup, that was it! I replaced the fonts as suggested and I can now read the text.
