hi all,
am a new member and hope i get the help here...

in short,i started a new game and everything was fine but after i saved the game and reopen half life 2 to continue playing,a message appears saying:
"node graph out of date,rebuilding..." ..what happens is that no monsters attack me ..they just freeze...however the game is running well...i went to some forums and tried a code "ai_disable 0" in the console but didn't work either .... thanks to anyone can help...

Did you purchase the game? Or was this a free download? If you ansered no to the first question, and yes to the last one, then there is your problem right there.

Sounds like you didn't purchase the game :frown:

I've seen that pop up before (maybe once). I have a legal version.

What happens when you try to play again

what is node graph out of date?

I keep getting that in Opposing Force.

It's an error that occurs in both the legal and warez versions, but far more often in the warez version.

The help is in the legal version of the game.

Go buy the game and your problems will be gone.

I am having the same problem as is posted here. I have a legal copy of the game (I bought the collectors edition and have the T-shirt).

At some point in the game I get the error "Node Graph out of date" then I get another error following that states "A.I. disabled."

I should note that I used Steam to install Half Life 2 rather than using my install disk and I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit (which i'm beginning to regret buying).

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Old thread. VERY old thread. Don't ressurect these.

And Vista is your problem.

But Vista disables the AI? o_O

If in doubt, you can verify the games cache in its properties window and defragment the game to see if that will do anything (Just right-click on the game's name in Steam games list, and select properties). Also ensure that it is upto date

Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit (which i'm beginning to regret buying).

Isn't it a duel install. The boxed version has both 32 and 64 bit installs. If it is, I recommend reformat and partition for the 32bit install, ensuring you backup any other files. Not many programs are 64bit capable, and half of them that do work require windows signed drivers

Could someone confirm or deny this please? I have no plans to get Vista any time soon but when I do it would be nice to have the choice between the 32 and 64 bit installs without having to buy two copies of the OS.

Edit:
Just answered my own question. For those of you who don't know, all Vista Disks are identical and it is your CD key that determines what features are unlocked while installing. But it appears that the 32-bit and the 64-bit editions of Vista use entirely different disks, so it is not possible to change from a 32-bit installation to a 64-bit using the same disk.

Deployment: Vista images are hardware independent, which probably is the most important new feature from a system administrator?s point of view. However, this doesn?t apply to 32 and 64 bit images, i.e. you?ll need different images for Vista x86 and Vista x64. If you can?t move entirely to the 64 bit edition, then this might double your workload.
