noob question

well this is the first time ive ever used hammer, Ive watched some tut videos, and I kind of know how to work it.here is my question:

I want to make a door 48x108, but I cant figure out how to make it that small...when I use the block tool it only makes the objects on a scale of 128x128..I also tried transform, scale, but I didnt know how to work it
