hey guys, wonderin if CS:S can play with those who don't have source, just regular CS.

No, you can't play CS:S with your old CS. You will have to buy HL2.

Buy the silver edition to get the old counter strike. Thats what I did and it was only another 10 bucks or so. Plus there are a lot of other games in the silver package.

Yeh u should do that if u wanna play some of the older games wich are great 2.

oh, so that means when i play CS:S, my friends who have regular CS, we cannot play with each other?

No I am afraid you cannot play with them unless you bought the silver or gold package from steam. If you bought your copy from a store you are out of luck. You can pick up half life 1 and all the explansions/counter strike for about 25 dollars canadian at EB so it wouldent cost you a lot for CS.
