Does anyone know any good guide where i can start learning about mods and moding etc...
I dont know ANYTHING about modding.

and is it modding or moding?

emm..yea i was thinking simpler but i guess this will have to do :hmph: :|

there are areas of mod? and thanks for that website, its really helpful

There's loads of different areas of modding, just like real game development. You could do 3D modelling, animation, texturing, level desig, game design, sound effects and so on and so on. People usually start with level design (www.interlopers.net is a good site for that, like Ennui said) because it's rather easy to get going with it (especially with HL2). If you want to do 3D modelling and stuff like that... then you might want to take a look at another engine because Source is totally crap when it comes to importing models into the engine. Might want to turn your eye towards the Unreal Engine for that.

Be more specific with your questions and we'll be able to answer them better :)

sorry i didnt have a clue
EDIT: does Source SDK update automatically?

got no single problem with that :D
good luck finding what you like in game design test all of it and you'll know,
(btw if you liked math at school you might be good in programming elsewise it'll be a bit harder :P )

on the tutorial that i tried said that source sdk hammer should configure itself if you wanted it to (somehow) but i can't find out how you get it to self configure?

It should.

I think if you click Refresh SDK Content it should configure the SDK for all the Source engine games you own.

man.....

Everyone helps you better than they will ever help me :x

:sniper:

And you are unwisely saying I am not cool missster freeman?

I think you'll find that you were given a fair amount of advice until you turned into a ranting, incoherent moron.

Damn it Kinetic you were one of my advisers.

I am a moron because you made me a moron

YOUR FAULT!
