Actor James Doohan, who played the chief engineer Montgomery Scott in Star Trek, has died at the age of 85.

Beam me up, Scotty is no more...i didnt believe it was true but it says it right there in the BBC News

Actually though, I was reading about this guy and he was kind of a bad-ass. He was shot six times during the D Day invasion, once in the finger (shot it clean off; he kept it hidden in the show) twice in the legs, once in the chest (where the bullet was stopped by a silver cigarette holder). Scotty was F*CKING HARDCORE!!1!
