Not sure how to get the cheats to work...

Sorry for being such a sad case, but I'm trying to figure out how to get the cheas to work. I've seen that I ned to change the command line on the shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe" -console, however, my shortcut reads "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 220. I would rather not change this and screw anything up. When i try to change it, I'm told that the path is not valid.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Don't bother doing it that way. Go into the game, then go to your options. Then go to 'keyboard', then click the button in that window which says 'advanced' Check the box which says 'enable developers console'. Now press ' which is the button underneath ESC, and to the left of '1/!'. In this console you can type your cheat commands. e.g. sv_cheats 1 - to activate cheat mode. Then theres 'god' 'impulse101' 'noclip' etc etc. Hope that helps.
