Not trying to be negative, but GTA:SA's music really sucks -- How can I turn it off?

If I remember correctly, in the talk radio station someone mentioned that the music from the early 90's was really bad. I couldn't agree more. I wonder if Rockstar deliverately put awful music in this game in order to reinforce that point.

I am aware that there is a setting that allows me to hear the last radio station I was listening to each time I enter a new vehicle, but this works only half of the time. After I load a previous game, that setting is gone, and I have to manually choose the radio station of my choice, WCTR. Not that I like to hear that garbage anyway, at least not anymore, since I already listened to all that crap 100 times.

So my question is, how do I get rid of all the other radio station or permanently tell the game to play either WCTR or my MP3 files? It's really starting to annoy me. Very awful music they chose for this game indeed.

This is a known bug with people using the drivers that came with their sound cards. Your sound card is loaded with lots of different music tracks, however your drivers are playing all the bad songs.

Find out the make of you card and then download the latest drivers. They will then be able to access the better songs.

Hope this helps.

Here is my radio station list:
K-DST - The best on the game thanks to its similarity to the music of Vice City.
WCTR - Just downright hilarious.
K-ROSE - Funny dialogue with some great sing-a-long songs.
Master Sounds <number I always forget> - Some very funny sexist comments but the music is a fair bit of tat.
Radio X - Some good rock classics on there.

Other than that, I barely listen to any of the other stations. Bounce FM? What is up with that? I have never listened to it... kind of like Wave 103 from VC, it is just a nothing station.

Wow, I love this games music. Skynard, Soundgarden ... others that I forgot since I haven't played the game since it came out on PS2. But as long as you don't listen to the crappy rap (the old school rap station is good), country, and pop there's a good selection. Although I thought SA's talk radio was far inferior to VC and especially GTA3.

Anyway, you should be able to just turn the music off.

Yeah, VCR was great, didn't listen to the radio on GTA3 though.

I got gta3's chatterbox on my user made radio. I win!

VCPR > everything

I mean, we shall build a river. A river of Freedom. A River... of hope. We will CUT ourselves off from the other 49 states of wastrels and bad influences to the north! Build your own theme parks and stay away from ours!...

I think they got some extremists and stuffed them in a room and recorded it. That would be intresting radio.

O__O! DUDE! Chatterbox was one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

The GTAIII radio station with Lazlow was the funniest station in any GTA game. Was that the chatterbox one? He talks about how he got thrown off of the rock station, then in VC he is on the rock station since it's back in time of course, pretty funny.

VCPR is the greatest...and yes I'm no fan of SA's music.

Takashi your posts really suck is there a way I can turn them off :p

what was the guy in vc called who had the 'love station', emotion 98 or sumit?, played all balads and stuff, fernando martinez was it? he owned all...was a funny bugger.

fernando is also in SA, he's on a love show on wctr

When I heard his voice on SA I just started laughing uncontrollably causing me to fail the mission... my friend does such a good impression of him, it's just unnatural

Yeah use your own music, or i turn the game radio off and put an internet radio on in the background, talksport, or virgin or bbc radio 2/4 :p

I swear, sometimes I think you do it intentionally.

The dance channel presented by that German guy makes me laugh. ;D

And the girl on Radio X, what the hell is she on about most the time? She annoys me, some good stuff on that channel, though. I usually have my harddrive running. Slayer: Decade of Agression + speeding down freeway on a motorcycle = H2Ohyeah!

Most of the time her dialogue is incredibly funny. But nothing will beat.

"I have two tickets to paradise, in my pants" - K-DST

Wow, can't believe you hate the music in GTA:SA

I think I'll admit it's not as good as Vice City. But..it's still really good.

Lets see...

America - A Horse with No Name
Billy Idol - White Wedding
Rod Stewart - Random awesome song I forget, but it's there
Tom Petty - Runnin Down a Dream
L7 - Pretend We're Dead
Guns N'Roses - Welcome To The Jungle
John Parr - St Elmo's Fire
Foghat - Slow Ride
Kiss - Strutter
Eddie Money - Two Tickets to Paradise

And that's only to name a few...

On second thought, I think it might be better than Vice City...

No, it's got great SEPERATE music (rage against the machine, yay!). But as a soundtrack? Blah. Not something to speed down the highway dodging police cars to.

...Then again, neither was Emotion. You know, i really hated Wave 103, even though it had ok music. Chatterbox had Fernando Martinez as a guest panelist as well, if i recall correctly... and it looks like WCTR has 'Gardening with Maurice' which i hope to be Maurice Chaves. No, not Chaveess. Or Chaves. It's 'Cha-Ves'.

Dr. Dre - 1-8-7

Great song, even though I hate rap, also Let Me Clear My Throat by DJ Kool is another great song. And K-DST is full of great songs, along with some of the Radio X songs (STP, Alice in Chains, good stuff)

Maybe so, but most the time is all just 'gawd, people over 30 will never... understand real rock music... I love this one, I was a kid listening to it. Oh my god, I'm soooooooo pilled up right now, can you beleive that Ozzy... is the reaaaaal rock right now, people just don't understand me.''

Simular, anyway. I only put Radio X on for that one song, which I don't even know the name of as she never even says the names of the songs, bar Hellraiser, which goes ''And she walked right, through the dooooor'' - no idea what it is, but I like it.

Some of the music is alright, the talk station is too short, Vice City's Radio owns San Andreas.

K-ROSE, Radio Los Santos and K-DST are all good, but K-JAH West is da stuff! Ya man! Respect!

Yes it seems they added more stations, but shorted them all too... so the Talk radio station is very short. Which sucks.

Probably not. Their voices are way different, but Maurice Chaves was hilarious... You know which I one I find hilarious? The one about the Glory Hole Theme Park :)
