Notice how many threads seem to go off topic?

Since this is an off-topic board..this is a perfect place for this thread. Some threads I read (especially in the politics board) go way of topic. I have one question? Why? It's kind of interesting to me about how the topic is about prisoners being abused, ends up becoming an religous argument. I don't know about you but someone must be studying human behavior to find this out. Why do you think threads go off-topic so much??

threads go off topic because that is the way the human mind works, it jumps and links topics that are related, war to religion to commerce to the best kind of pancakes, objects and concepts are linked inexplicably together in the mind, and as such ideas jump the gap between thoughts and spark new insight which we desire to share with another.

it's simply human behaviour to hop from subject to subject to form a coherent whole view of the world around us.
