Ok so the title is a bit 'huh?' but ill explain.
You know when you get really hyped for a movie and you cant stop watching the trailers prior and leading upto that film's release?
For example, The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of...***k it.
Now, I noticed that the voiceovers in the trailers from sections of each movie in the trailer differed to the film's.
Still thinking 'wtf?'. Okay. Ill break it down to specifics;
You know that part in The Dark Knight when the Joker and BMan are in the cell...thing either side of the table and basically the best part of the movie takes place in terms of acting by Heath, and he says that 'Youre not like them, youre not' and then 'To them youre just a freak, like me'.
Now, in the trailer (cant remember which one) when the voiceover says 'Youre just a freak...like me', Heath has a higher pitch or tone when he says 'like me' in the trailer compared to when he says it in the movie.
'So?' I hear you say. Well when I went to see The Dark Knight in the cinema, when he started saying 'To them youre just a freak' I was mouthing along (call me sad if you want, I dont care, I wasnt the only one), and was surprised when I heard the difference between the trailer and the film.
Case 2; Indiana Jones.
'I thought you were a teacher', 'Part time'. The 'Part time' line is said differently in the film than in the trailer(s).
I know this is all down to re-editing the film, but how many takes does it take to say one line? How many times do they have to record the lines? Why change them in the trailer compared to the film?
Obviously im not in the film industry so dont know what goes on behind the scenes, im just speaking out loud as ive just finished watching The Dark Knight on DVD and that thought popped into my mind again.
