noun version of "compelling"?

subject says it, I can't think of what it is, if it exists. I'd settle for a similar word as well, but it has to be a noun.

definition context - "a compelling argument"

'Interest' would work, as would 'potency'. Yours is pretty good anyway.

I suppose that would have worked, but it sounds a little awkward.

I like the one I chose better anyways - I like how it's a French word, so it just BEGS to be spoken through the nose....
