The Sims I will agree with, I personally don;t like any simcity after SimCity 3000, Freedom Force I couldn;t get into, and The Sims 2 I won;t buy after seeing the bullshit they pulled with The Sims with expansion packs, and how they already built the bullshit into The Sims 2, it was made for expansion packs, which is crap, make a full game from the beginning, expansion packs should be thought of after the game is done, not during production

Oh, I agree with that one. Cutting content out just so it can fit in an expansion pack is absolutely pathetic.

Well if you're a fan of basketball games, this sucks complete ass. The ESPN 2K series was the shit. They somehow argue that this is better for gamers....bullshit....competition is better for gamers. If EA can't keep up they simply buy them out, what a load. The NBA 2K series has dominated EA for the last 3 years so instead of trying to imporve their product they buy out the name....nonsense..

I hope this doesn't spell the end of Sega sports all together. What a loss for people looking for some variety.

I have to disagree.. I wasnt a fan of the sims but the Sims 2 is real good stuff.. they completely revamped the whole graphics engine and it has a lot of new stuff in it.

Simcity is the only EA game I ever really liked, and it was made by Maxis before they got bought out.

haha, its a matter of time before ALL YOUR GAMES come from ONE company....and gamers wont even notice it. ahhahaha

EA is the devil. A monopoly on the games industry. There are very few good games from EA, which is sad considering the amount of games they release is through the roof.

The Battlefield series is owned by EA and they're some of my favorite games. I don't really care about ESPN video games getting bought out. I really don't care. Whenever Valve/Bioware/etc. gets bought by EA then I'll be pissed but untill then... bleh.

Hahah looks like Take Two/Visual Concepts is about to wrap up an exclusive deal with the MLB and possibly the NBA. Nice counter to EA's deal.

Sounds good to me. For at least the last three years, EA has sucked at basketball.

The NBA appears to be playing this smart however, by breaking down their games into genres instead of all encompassing rights, they're looking to get some serious money. I sure hope Take Two/Visual Concepts is able to lock down the sim genre.

You're completely right, that MLB deal is a beautiful counter to EA's exculsivity rights for Take Two/Visual Concepts.

Battlefield Vietnam.

But I'm sure Battlefield 2 will be better since they let the European DICE team work on it again on a loose timeframe instead of the one that worked on BFV.

Bill must be happy- these days "elitist" gamers (with quite a bit of justification) are ganging up on EA rather than Microsoft.

When you consider that Mr. Gates could buy out EA about eleven times over and still have enough capital to run his enterprises without financial worries- well, then you'd be grateful it's a trumped up media company gathering up developers and copyright deals rather than a gigantic multinational corporation that could afford to buy most of the industry... :D

Although that's a moot point, MS would probably do a better job of it, they've had more experience in the field of grabbing lucrative deals and making something not-entirely-shit out of them.

theres a difference between EA and Microsoft?
i always thought they were the same thing, ie: gooble up EVERYTHING they can see then spit em out and make profits then move on.

Microsoft products are quality, as of lately.

They've had some major problems in the past and such, and still do have the occasional security hole (that they do patch and fix as soon as it is discovered) but Windows XP, and all the new innovations are quite impressive and worth my money.
