Now that hl2 is delayed should i get bf1942?

Should i get bf1942? I played the demo and the demo itself was crap it would cut u on and off servers..so horrible. But is it a good game one worth purchasing?I cant really think of any other games that will be able to hold me over (besides halo maybe) intil hl2 comes out.

I said the demo was crap i didnt say i did/didnt like the game read my post again. If you actually played the demo you would have noticed that it wont let u (or atleast me)on 8/10 servers so i dont have enough playtime with it to say if i like it or not thats why im asking.

If you're into the whole vehicles-and-teamplay thing, then Battlefield is for you. But if you're looking for something else you may be dissappointed.
Personally I haven't stopped playing it for over a year now.

Wierd, I love PC games, yet I never really heard much about Freedom Fighters... it looks decent.

Man i really can't see what all the fuss is....sure i'd like hl2 to be out by the 30th, but its really not the only AAA+ game coming out in the next 2-3 months...just to name a few.

.....omg i could continue for ages on end---so my point is that if you're bored and complaining about there's nothing to play until hl2 arrives (again )....then take a quick look at the list again

I told my friend on the bus today to get HL2 on the 30th, and i had a dream today when i went for a nap that i was playing HL2 on my Xbox. I hadnt checked the forums in about 2 days and imagine my suprise when i had a peek today.

On a side note, in my dream i had eaten my dinner so when my mum came and woke me up, i got so mad with her cos she said my dinner was ready but i was insisting that i had already eaten it.

Im not complaining about hl2 being delayed im actually kinda glad cause i want to get my comp "off the hook" before it comes out so i can be like "wow". All i asked was if bf1942 is worth purchasing. BTW CoD is coming out in november.

I've had BF1942 since it came out. I bought it becauwse of all the awesome reviews that it got, and because I was looking for some huge map MP action. When everyone was new I thought it sucked because no one worked together, it just seemed like 20+ people on team A trying to kill the 20+ people on team B with no strategy at all. It was just random battles here and there. I uninstalled it and decided that I would wait a few months and let people get their stuff together. Well, I actually waited a year (other games came out) and I found that it was basically the same. Some people know what they are doing, but you will find groups of up to 10 people at any given time waiting at the spawn points for the planes. It's still just random killing here and there. Sorry to rant (and be so off-topic at the same time), but I feel like the games concept is increadible, and that the concept is executed very well. The thing that sucks are the people. Plain and simple. Every once and a while you will get into a good server and the game is amazing, but this is rare and it takes so long to find a server like this that you spend more time searching than playing.

Now, a good game where only the minimum of teamwork is required, and it is still very fun, is UT2K3. This game is just plain fragging mayhem, which can give you a very visceral feeling. While in games like BF1942 it pisses me off when I die, but when I die in UT2K3 after a good long shootout with someone who is skilled I feel okay with it because I know that it took skill and not randomness/luck to kill me.

Just my opinion.

I thought and still think BF1942 was kickass. And can't wait till BFNAM comes out. (drool) I didn't like the singleplayer...but multiplayer. Idioticaly fun. Playing on a BF1942 32 person LAN game is fun stuff. Never played it oneline tho.

I have BF1942 and RtR, and I only play DC. Here's what I think you should do: either buy the combo pack (BF1942+RtR+SW) or wait for BF:Vietnam. If I were you I'd wait for the ladder to appear. BF1942 servers will eventually fade away when BF:V comes out : /

I never liked Battlefield, it always felt like a big, clumbsy, unco version of what the Tribes series was trying to accomplish.

It was just so boring after the novelty of running people down in jeeps and aircraft passed.

My game of choice at the moment: Enemy Territory.

SP is not really good imo, mut multiplayer is fantastic, ecpecially on a LAN party. loading up some of your bds into that big ass bomber, climbing high into the sky, then jump out of it and see your sucky buddies shatter on the ground's beneath
