Spirited Away most certainly counts as anime. And infact, if you liked that, you should check out Princess Mononoke, it's by the same guy and is very well done as well.

Well he didn't have to state his opinion so strongly - 4 times i think it was - and outcast anyone who likes anime. i think he is only outcasting himself.

There are people that say " i hate <a particular type> of music but maybe they have only heard the bad stuff.

I myself cannot stand Country music, for example. But once i met a girl I really liked and she loved country, and she played a country song for me that was so beatiful. I didn't know that I could ever like country music. i still don't, except maybe a couple of songs, but at least im not as closed minded to say " all country is horrible shit and anyone who listens to it is a ****ing idiot" - like Glirk pretty much said.

I thought if i show him a decent example of an anime picture that i like. Its a drawing, what like a video game, you have to take the good with the bad. there is no perfect drawing, and its not ment to be.

Comparing babies to pre teen girls in a mini skirt is almost as bad as comparing bunny rabbits to people. If you haven't realized there is a difference between cartoons and anime. Anime is a specific type of cartoon drawing. When I was a kid I watched good cartoons, none of the BS anime that is played today. Stuff like rocky and bullwinkle, the roadrunner...that kind of stuff.

That is because it's eyes are proportional to what it actually would be when drawn...hence making it believable. When a person is incredibly un proportional it is hard to believe and makes for a bad story when your not drawn in.
