Anyone ever play this game? Was made by Westwood.

I got it a long time ago and decided to play it again. I've beaten it with every character, and got bored of the main quest rather quick therefor.

Anyway I went and dled the add-on "Nox Quests", and was wondering if anyone was up to play it online? I've gotten to level 11 on it so far with my new conjurer. I finally got a damn crossbow(with quick reloads ^_^), although I kept on running out of ammo with my bows at lvl 9....so through level 9 I basically was just using a Mech. Golem and Fist of Heavens to get through.

I heard of it, isn't it like Diablo?

Similar. It's hack n slash and had the potential to be better than Diablo if they would have updated it more and put in more stuff. Although if your tired of Diablo it's quite refreshing. It's less Dark Fantasy than Diablo and it's more combo between Fantasy\Dark Fantasy.

Just wiki'ed it... I remember playing a demo of it awhile back.

With Westwood being 'dead' and all, I'm sure it's probably free to download somewhere...

Yes actually. In fact the major communites have links to Torrents\Rapid Share downloads. I guess online still works(I guess it goes through a private company now and you can login\register via the exact same way as before). Theres also patches to bypass checking the Cd-Key. Although I can't get it to go online, I keep getting "General Error". Pissing me off.

Anyway this game had some of the funnest online modes ever. From DeathMatch\Team Deathmatch\Capture the Flag\Capture the Ball\etc..

They were cool because you were given access to every single spell, then your items you'd pick up across the map. It really came down to how good you were with the spells\talented player.

had a ripped version soo many years ago.

i liked it a lot though it seemed a fair few didn't..

Well if you want a link to it, i'll give you one.

I just got online and I love the MP so much.

I liked it well enough. More than Diablo at least.

Didn't bother finishing it though.

I hope mods wont care that this is posted. Westwood has basically been shut down, on most NOX fain sites you can easily find information like this. plus there is no decent way to get the game anymore besides this way.

Heres a link to the Multiplayer Version:

You will have to download Westwood Online if you download the above.

Heres a link to a forum containing a zip file that contains some torrent links. Problem is that you gotta post 40 posts to be able to dl on there forums.
Contains the full version of NOX.

For Both DL Links:
Cd Key Generator:

Then to bypass Cd Checks on Westwood Online you will need this if you use the cd key generator:

Alright, got everything bar the iso which I should have by tomorrow.

The megaupload link has used too much bandwidth too. d:

Are there many ppl playing online ?

Right now at 7 a.m central time theres only 13 people on. 7 of which are in a single game playing Eliminiation, 3 in a Arena, and 2 doings Nox Quests. The community is rather small but theres normally always people playing online that you can play with so don't be worried at all. Throw in there quite friendly as most small communities are.

You either need the torrent(full version) or the multiplayer version.

I quickly went online and even with the small community(I remember coming on to a large community last time I played) the games still fun online. I went on there and screwed off a bit. Plus if you get all your friends in this, more people!

Plus Nox is by far one of the funnest mp rpg games ever. Has some of the coolest game modes I have ever seen. To get online don't register, just time in some login and a password, can be anything..doesn't really matter.

Re:

I'm the main moderator of www.noxforum.net I ran into this post here and just have a few things to add.

Full Download: http://www.noxhub.net/html/downloads.htm

You can download the music and intro videos and such from that location as well. I've uploaded everything to my website for free sharing.

Also on my website i'm hosting up an info wiki on all aspects of the game

Wiki: www.noxhub.net/wiki

Current progress on the game includes a new ladder system using packet bots coded in C++ to record game data. It will fully support clans when finished and will have better security and player support then WWs original. We've had a full map editor for allmost a year now and an alpha one for allmost 2 years. I'm finalizing the coding on a new version that shows the in game graphics and allows for easier editing. http://www.noxhub.net/html/downloads.htm has a link to that as well.

The main forum is www.noxforum.net and the community is lulled at the moment because of weather and school issues. Friday nights we average about 50 players at all times and during summer and break times our online population doubles or triples. With the free downlaod we are expecting massive returns.

The game is far better multiplayer then solo, however the learning curve is pretty high. The best of the best can take down entire other teams by themselves (personal best is 12 v 1 (me) in CTF and my win).

Alot of the bugs have been manually patched or trainered by ourselves and the games files are all fully editable (soon when I release the thing.bin editor we can add new items and monsters to the game as well).

I ask you all to share this info wherever possible, the game is far better then the crap they put out anymore.

If you want more info feel free to join our Ventrilo server, no account required just connect and talk.

*edit* Oh yeah, and the download on my website is a full custom install, not an iso. So yuo jsut click install and go, no patches or cracks to get. *grin*, I also won't be back here, if you want to get ahold of me visit noxforum.net.

Vague trivia:

Nox was actually created by Michael Booth, of Turtle Rock Studios fame. He showed it off at a trade show, and Westwood bought it (and him) up.

I still have it off hand. I might look into it some more. Thanks for the heads up.

i remember playing that game. It was really fun :D
