Number of Episodes? Future of...

Is there any speculation on how many episodes we may see before Half-Life 3?

The way I imagine it is Valve would create a series of episodes that fill up the story line from HL2 up until right before the end, and Half-Life 3 could be the finale. That would be a really nice way to pull it all off I think. :]

Anyone else think that would be neat? or imagine it will play out that way? Or have any other speculation on the future of HL2+ (Eps, 3, etc.)?

I'm just curious, I havn't really kept up with the forums as much as I used to, in fact I didn't even know this episode came out until EB Games called me about my pre-order. But like an impatient tard I went ahead and just paid for it over the net to get it even faster, hahaha, wow. I hope I can refund the pre-order.

Well, ... anyway, someone please speculate!

I remember hearing there are going to be 4 episodes, correct me if I am wrong. As for Half Life 3, no one knows if there will be one, the episodes may or may not end the Half Life series. It would sadden me if they don't come out with a Half Life 3, but then again it could be a beautiful beginning of Valve making another great game.

I heard in an interview on Gamespot (I think) that they really should have called in Half-Life 3: Episode 1. Since they didn't I am sure they were will be a real Half-Life 3.

I just hope that Half-Life 3 isn't episodic. I like the whole thing for expansions but I would like a full length game again.

Im pretty sure i read that 3 episodes are planned (incl. 1) to finish the current story arc, and i think i remember reading in the same article that a hl3 IS planned, starting a new story arc.

Wouldnt it be great if they did spin offs like on the origina; Half life where you can play people such as Barney...or maybe even Alyx.

So HL3 is a totally new story? And yes, I think its just Ep1, Ep2, and Ep3 for HL2.

Hl3 might be more g-man centred, as it seems that g-man might be taken out of the picture while you fight the combine.

It would be cool if they released a HL2 Stategy thing like commador conquerer. Either be the combines or the rebels...fun ^^
