lately while playing games on my pc i have had my pc crash and a blue error screen is displayed. This screen cites the file nv4_disp.dll as the problem. I have looked around the internet and found that numerous other people have had this problem before. I was wondering if anyone here has this problem, and if anyone knows what causes it or how to fix it?

Specs:
Athlon 64 X2 4400+
7800GT OC (latest drivers)
1 gig dual channle ram

try using older drivers thats usually the only cause for that

You will get that error if almost anything goes wrong while your nVidia video card driver is executing code. This is maybe one of the most common crashes in the universe. It could mean a problem with your video card driver. It might be that you recently installed new drivers and you system just isn't happy. It might indicate a hardware issue with your video card (dust build up, fan wearing out, general chaos). You should probably look into your temperatures.

Roll back to 78.05... anything but the 81.XX drivers and you should be fine. Theres a dualcore bug with the newest drivers.
