Yes i currently own a Nvidia Geforce 4 TI 4800 8 agp(says under desktop Porperties), but says TI 4600 on bios. Anyways i wanted to know that since Half-Life2 has been delayed will the drivers still be released like they were going to? or are they going to be held back, and updated and tweaked for a better performance? Please reply or let me know if someone asked this question. Thanks

new drivers will be released in October (probably mid October) but I doubt that there will be any speed increase for GeForce 4 class cards.

Only GeForce FXes will get performance enhancements.

i believe there trying to make drivers to help all dx9 cards.... so fx only...
other series are alrdy at there best possible

wasnt the 4800 an overclocked 4600 with 8x agp?

im pretyt sure thats what it was and that would be why it says 4600 in bios?

(only a guess but i think thats it...)

It isnt OCed, just added 8x agp instead of 4x. Thats all.

the performance problems with nvidia cards concerns dx9. the geforce 4 series is only dx8.1, so it doesn't concern you. Like most users (only hardcore has dx9 cards now and that's how it will be for another 6 months at least), you won't be getting some of the more advanced effects, but performance-wise, it's more playable than nvidia dx9 cards RUNNING IN DX9 MODE.

The ti4800 is acutally slower then the ti4600. Its around the performance of a ti4400.

Yeah, I think it was a 4400 just with 8x agp.
Didn't the 4200 an 8x model too?
btw GF4 TI are DX8.0 (not 8.1,Radeon 8500 was dx8.1 though), GF4 MX are DX7 just like my GF2 :)

Ti4800 = Ti4400 with AGP 8x
Ti4800 SE = Ti4600 with AGP 8x

yes but if u look on the nvidia site, the 4800 is a new gpu then the 46700 weith 8 agp. I even asked nvidia and they said it was a 4600 witha newier gpu, and 8 agp
