Nvidia launches the 5950 and the 5700...

nice, nice........

Looks like nvidia are now on the offensive trying to retrieve lost ground to me :)

All competition in this industry are good. Means cheaper faster products for us gamers :)

this should be in hardware..... Nvidia just can't let go of the 5000's can they? what next... "The new GeForce FX 5975.8!"?

I've heard good things about the 5950, but nothing about the 5700..

I really hope the 5700 measures up to the 5900 like the 9600 does to the 9800, and that it's not another sucky DX9 budget card.

All I knew was nVidia back before I got my 9700, and I still think they're a great company, I almost bought a 5600 until I heard about the benchmarks/etc.. so back to me hoping that the 5700 measures up well to their top of the line cards

The 5950U is barley a different card then the 5900U. The clock speeds are SLIGHTLY higher. Thats it.

Same deal with the 9800XT there Tex.

Anandtech has a review of the GeForceFX5700, and it's doing pretty well against the Radeon 9600XT. Even in DX9 games.

Wow, the 5700 Ultra beat the 9600 Pro/XT in half the tests! Nvidia has CONSIDERABLY shortened the gap. This will be a race to rembmer. :borg:

The 5600 was based on the old 5800 technology which had half the bandwidth of the current 5900. The 5700 however is based directly off the 5900 so not only is it based on improved hardware it makes use of the 5900's cinefx 2.0 shaders which are a vast improvement over the original 5800's shaders.
