In a recent research note, Pachter confirms that Microsoft "has agreed to pay a small royalty
to Nvidia to allow the Xbox 360's ATI chipset to emulate the performance of the Nvidia
chipset in reading certain Xbox games." Nvidia, therefore, will not only be receiving royalties from
its partnership with Sony for the PS3, but it will also still get small payments from Microsoft for every 360 "

Call me crazy........ but that sounds like a bit of a raw deal for Microsoft... its ATI's product, shouldn't THEY be paying the royalty for emulating a competing company's product? Unless of course MS is playing the nice guy for ATI.... this is odd.

I dunno, I mean M$ want ATI to make a chip that will run Nvidia stuff from a previous console. Not really ATI's fault, M$ want the feature, I think they should pay for it
