:O :( omg i got to do a complete format, i got steam installed on default c:drive, proberly the best thing to do is just copy steam apps but i think its massive over 7.gig  if i just copy it shall i copy all the gcf,s or the whole steam apps after reinstalling o/s and apps if i install steam ,then just chuk all wot a copyed bak into toi steam apps

Eh come again? I'm guessing you're wondering what to do. Either copy the GCF's (the whole game folders etc might work too afterwards) or just reinstall Steam & redownload everything.

you can move it to another disk, i did it, and my steam folder is 10gb

Another way is to burn it to two dvd-rs or you can just transfer it to a external harddrive. (Wouldn't want to use 11 cd-rs hah)

moving steam apps folder

ur yer i want to format pc so i want to know if its ok to just copy the [whole steam apps folder] or just the [preloaded gcf,s files] i can burn all 10 gig to dvdr,s. after pc has got new [clean o/s install] and fresh steam installed if i put the files i burned back to there places will it wrk proper as this will save a huge download, as steam keeps a log of wot u own if i connect to net via steam it might dl all of it again u see

I just moved the gfcs, when i refomatted, it worked fine
