I know this has to do with my videocard, but my PC is good enough to handle the game, it just doesn't look too nice hehe.

So I'd like to know how to increase the value, so they dissapear farther away. Keep them visible longer.

I found this command, I don't know if it is the right one

cl_maxrenderable_dist 3000 - Max distance from the camera at which things will be rendered

Help will be appreciated! I wanna see how far I can throw them corpses with my gravity gun heh!

you answered your own question i think...you could try forcing dx 8 mode....using 3danalyze.

I'm going to assume you are running in DX7 mode. To fix this, there is a file called DXSUPPORT in steam/steamapps/username/halflife2/bin, open that file in notepad.

There under the mode that says "name 70" change the following lines as shown:

This:

"ConVar.r_screenfademinsize" "150"
"ConVar.r_screenfademaxsize" "250"

To this:

"ConVar.r_screenfademinsize" "0"
"ConVar.r_screenfademaxsize" "0"

Those zeros stop the fading.

go into console ~
and type in perfui
a pop up window with a drop down menu will appear..i forgot what the first option was exactly called...but after you enable or enter perfui all interactive objects [boxe, barrels, etc]shouldnt just suddenly appear, and should be visable from all the way at the end of the room or hallway etc....
pretty much no object except for grass will fade into view [i cant figure out the grass fading deal]....
in this pop up window u can edit the distance the objects appear...but on defualt they are set to not suddenly fade into view for max....er quality
