I just got a Dell 4600 and i want to Overclock the CPU. I looked at all kinds of forums, but i cant figure out how! My BIOS doesnt let me change the FSB! Is there any way to get a new BIOS or something? I read that my CPU (P4 2.4B) is good for OC. Im guessing that Dell doesnt like people OC their systems...

I have one that isnt supported... I tried this a while ago.
Isnt there another way?

Dell isnt the computer you want to overclock, Dell 4600 case is cramped inside. I hate Dell cases...

You def. dont want to OC any prebuilt comp like dell, gateway, probly alienware too. They dont have sufficient cooling to handle the OC.

You cant overclock a dell computer if it has the DELL Bios.

I have a Dell, and I tried to OC my GF4... Not a good idea.

I OC the Radeon 9800 in it. It worked fine. Right now its at 382.50 Core and 333.00 Mem. Then I installed the Catalyst 3.6, and now it thinks I have a 9800 PRO! o_O

I never liked dell, If i ever ordered anything from them it would be a laptop, or maybe an XPS. But id rather just make my own, more fun, more affordable, and its rewarding.

And highly customizable.

It took my friends 12 step program to get me off a dell and make my own computer off of their parts. Works damn well and my CPU runs half the temp then with the dell heatsink on it.

I was talking to black-falcon about the convert the dell to a better PC :p
