Ok a black hole doesnt allow light to travel - is it possible that one has spawned on a single wall in my map - i have a wall with a window in the middle... The wall above and below the window is black (even with a flashlight turned on it)...All the other walls are fine and there is a light entity nearby...what can i do

Also is there a windy sound thats alright looped?

no i have it enclosed in a room - it was working fine and then suddenly...bang - blackness...i have heard it happening with props but never brushes...

Speaking of props...why do models (listed when you browse the folders) not appear in game??

Here are some pics to show what im talking about - if that helps at all...Let me know if the link doesnt work...

models do who up, they are just black, as for your error, maybe the texture is faulty. I know when I play online sometimes, the textures go all faulty and black. SO yea, try changing textures.

i have somehow managed to pick the two models that wont show up so far so...a keypad and a recliner chair - can i do anything to sort this

Yeah try moving them one unit off the floor I don't know why but it's a common error I get with CSS mapping. You won't even notice they're like a centemeter off the floor, trust me.

Make sure that you aren't using a texture with "model" in its name on the wall. If you put a texture from a prop on a brush, odd stuff happens.

My props had darkness untill I put in a sky and a light_environment eventhough all my props that were dark were in an enclosed room with lights, after adding the sky in and light_environment it fixed it all , but remember to use the "tools/skybox" texture for your sky. Try this it might work for you too.

The props arent dark or black - just missing, invisable - can see them in the editor and in the 3d view but in-game...nothing

Sorted the problem with black texture -> i think there was a small gap near those walls

So any ideas on these ghost props?? :(

On the ghost props - check your console after you've loaded the map, there may be an error saying something about debris (IIRC, hasn't happened to me for a while ), if so you can't use it as a prop_physics. Though I would think something like a keyboard wouldn't be debris :(

my props dont show when they are colliding with brushes.

Like the guy above said, make sure they are 1 off the floor
