(Yes, I know I should really put this in the help wanted, but I need it somewhere where a large amount of people will see it )

Ok, for any who are interestedm we are in need of people to try out to do some voice acting for OES. We need english people, we need american people, we need russian people - hell, if you can put on a english/american/russian accent, we need you!

I've put all the information together at: http://www.bioproductions.co.uk/shadow/audio.htm

Hope you can help out :bounce:

Regards,

Fair enuff. :'(

Incidently, that was bloody quick - 1 min after posted ;)

hehehe, I like the scottish accent, but I don't know if any scots feature in OES, just yet. *please, no jokes about a blackop in a kilt*

If you want to give it a shot, go ahead, we need as many people on file as possible.

I have a microphone, I'm not sure how to record stuff with it though, can you recommend any software? Also perhaps having some lines for people to read out might help, so if everyone says the same thing it might make it easier to compare :)

Sure. I'll update the site with a phrase. I advise you use GOLDWAVE. It is a very effective recording program :) Or you can do with with windows .wav recorder and zip the file.

Accually, I'll post it here.

"Not in your wildest nightmares."

Enjoy.

Hope to 'hear' from you soon.

*laughs at his crappy joke*

(goes into actOr mode) mmmmyes, what is my character's motivation? Is he angry? Cocky? Was he breast fed as a child? One must delve into the depths of ones charactOr! :p

PS. Yes, that was kind of a crappy joke hehe

Well, depends on who you are acting for:

Blackops - calm, 'evil', cocky, posh..

Civvies - Scared, shakey, ect.

Russians - Angery, dramatic.. etc.

Okay, I sent you a 3 second clip, but it is more than 120kb.

I don't know how you expect any audable clip to be under 120kb. I recorded with a lower sampling rate than a phone.

Actually another way of doing it could be to use something like teamspeak, and actually listen to the person talking real time, might get a better idea that way, and can have more direct input on what you would like.

Not with my connection :D

Also, I need to keep a arcive of all the clips.

KB, I've increased the limit to 500k (or 600k) now, as I doubt I'll be bombarded with replys.

Umm I used goldwave, and I heard how painfully awful my voice is. So I may have to spare you the pain of it too and I'll go running into the hills.

hahahaha, it is natural for people to belive their voice doesn't sound effective.

Trust me, just send it ^_^
