Of Radeons and Audigies

1.) Does anyone know when the next generation of graphics cards is coming out? That Radeon 9800 Pro looks very tempting, but I'd hate to buy it if I knew that I was going to be extremely jealous two months later.

2.) Also, just out of curiosity, how do people here have their surround sound set up? I don't understand how I could possibly get 5 speakers positioned all around my computer desk.

I just have my rear speakers right at the side of my desk (I have a very wide desk, covers whole bay window ). It means I dont hear the sound behind me, but I can keep turning into the sound comes in front

1) The new generation shouldnt be that far away... But I dont know of a specific date. Depending on your current card or if you just have patience, I would advise waiting.

2) Headphones!!! Bleh, no crappy speakers... A pair of good headphones is really nice (cheap ones aint) and they allow you to really crank up volume without disturbing neighbours too much

1. It should probably be around early spring. Definitely worth waiting for.

2. For my 5.1 setup, i have: center speaker angled down on top of my monitor. Two front speakers on my desk facing me. Two rear speakers mounted on the wall behind me facing me.
