Post here if you got your halo 2 copy.

PS: No bashing (in other words no hl2 fanboys, that hate halo 2).

I got it yesterday. And holy crap, this game kicks so much ass.

Singleplayer rocks so far. The first part, on Earth, isn't what I thought it would be, but it's just as awesome as what I've been through so far (up to level five). The multiplayer is unbelievably addictive, too. Swords & Nades is my favorite gametype so far, but overall everything is great, and the rebalanced weapons give new life to the multiplayer experience (read: no more "Best Weapon In The Game" i.e. pistol).

My only gripes so far are: a somewhat glaring texture pop-in during cutscenes; sometimes, but not often, the ragdolls don't happen; the needler still seems to suck, but I probably just need to find a tactical situation to warrant its use; and the Magnum (the new pistol) seems a bit under-powered.

But slight and non-showstopper issues aside, this game is a definite GOTY contender. Basically flawless gameplay, with amazing graphics and absolutely stellar music.

I didnt buy it but I hav play it and is really cool

the mission on earth were very cool

and my favorite enemy are the Hunters (that big blue things whit a shield in one hand and some laser gun in the another)

Just finished the sp today and I loved it (except for the end, wtf?). Its very refreshing playing with the new weapons and the improved balance between them took me some time getting used to.

But, there is a bug thats bothering me. I have an HDTV Sony vega so the games runs at 480p, but both sides of the screen are not displayed (I can barely see how many grenades I have). This also give a sort of zoomed in look which becomes pretty frustrating. I wonder how come bungie did not correct this, or if they will.

Anyways, the game is still great.

I'm buying an Xbox and a Keyboard/Mouse adapter (Yes, I know... but I dislike console shooters with controllers) and of course, Halo 2.

More because on my birthday me and my friends need some ass-kicking to do. I will also get Xbox Live so we can play with other people.

It may sound pathetic, but I also want D&D: Heroes and DOA 3. Plus Xbox has some great games that my Gamecube can't offer.

Besides, Halo 2 sounds immensely fun (and I will get to play this Friday). I mean... jacking vehicles and dual-wielding?! WOO.

Halo 2's HD modes are all WIDESCREEN. That's why it cuts it off! :D

That explains it. But I thought that the tv would just put black bars on the top and the bottom of the screen, at least that is what my tv does in 1080i. Its funny because I never noticed any other game that cuts of the sides on 480p.

But why does the game force a widescreen mode when my xbox is supposed to run at a 4:3 aspect ratio?

lucky xboxers.

PC gamers will get their hand on it late next year

woot, yup. i have 1 level left, but i don't want to finish it :X

i got halo 2 and its one of the best games ever. as for the ending it is a bit of a cliffhanger eh?...theyll have to release halo 3 on xbox 2 as a flagship title.
