Best. Mission. Ever.

If this ever becomes a MP mode, there is a God and he works at Rockstar.
 
Yep, did it last night and was considering making a thread for it. Such a ****ing cool mission. I think Amishslayer said it reminded him of the movie Heat - or someone did - and he/they were bang on. Action, chase sequences, style... it's awesome.

So glad I did it the first time. I think the atmosphere of not pulling it off perfectly would of ruined it a bit for me, but it's still great fun.
 
For those of you who haven't done it yet, I recommend making a save point before completing it so that you can play it whenever you like.
 
I was going D: through the entire thing.
So.. epic.
Took me like 6 tries, though.
 
Yeah - a truly epic mission, I had a smile on my face the whole way through. It's probably the obvious similarity to Heat, but there was something so awesome about running through the city streets guns blazing with the other two guys, suit/ski-masks and all. It took me two tries to complete it, after I managed to shoot Derrick in the back of the head first time around. :p


Glad I made a seperate save for it too, I'll definitely go back and play it again once I finish the game.
 
I was thinking about making a separate save for it, but decided against. :(
 
How far into the game is this mission/who are you working for in it?
 
It's around 40% and you do it for Packie. He tells you to wear a suit.

I just started working for Manny and have yet to start those missions with Brucie

Long game is looooooooong
looks like I won't be getting the "beat the game in 30 hours" achievement :(
 
I did it today and it was awesome. Best GTA mission ever... Unless theres a better one later in the game xD
 
Yeah it was pretty funn when you got into the subway and were backing up and shooting at the cops. It seemed like I was extra strong that mission I felt like I took thousands and thousands of bullets but I was only missing like half my health.

The cops are weaker, me thinks, because there is no way in hell you can recrate the same situation with NOOSE cops in a regular non-mission environment. Or at least I can't anyway.
 
Great mission, took me 3 attempts although the 2nd time it bugged out and Packie wouldn't move from some spot. It could of been better though, if
they built on the brothers character so you could feel more attached to him when he got killed, would of been very moving! It felt very placed, no build up or anything to the mission

Must of spent $15k+ on guns and grenades lol.
 
It was pretty cool. The first two times I tried it Niko was a ****ing noob and fumbled grenades onto his own cover, killing Packie and then me. After driving back over and skipping through all the intro stuff three times, I think it lost it's effect on me. Still enjoyed it though... just not as much as the $250,000 reward. :D:D
 
Yeh, Loved it, great mission.

Really long and full of fighting, just like GTAs of old.
 
im at the mission right before it, cant wait to get home
 
Eh, great mission so far.

Soon as I get out of the subway I get completely surrounded by cops. Can't make a move without being shot to bits.
 
Cormeh;

A lone cop car should pull up on the scene who can easily be taken down, then after that it's all about avoiding the road blocks on your map and just outrunning the cars. The actual driving part of the mission wasn't much of a fight for me - I lost them before I even got across the bridge to the home island. Little annoyed actually as I wanted a cool chase.
 
Ah. I kept bursting out and getting gunned down. I'll look out for the car. I notice you reduce to 3 stars, so the evasion should be a piece of piss.

you could always rob a bank irl and see how it goes static..
 
****ing awesome mission. Running through what looked like Chinatown with gunsblazing was ****ing awesome.
 
Awesome mission, was on the edge of my seat :)

Cool mission, did it today on 2nd attempt (1st time through, I didn't have a vest). I escaped the cops with a tiny bit of health left (one hit would kill me) hoping that I don't stupidly crash into something and die flying out the windshield.

A bit of a shame that you can't really recreate that in sandbox conditions as the cops seemed easier and positioned in certain points in the map, while during sandbox play I often get shot from all directions at once :>

Yeah, I must agree it was an amazing mission although you can't beat the bank mission in Kane and Lynch. That mission was intense.
 
I just beat this mission, very amazing. Haven't seen Heat, but it reminded me a little bit of Reservoir Dogs.

As we were driving in a 1969 Cadillac to the bank "Changes" by David Bowie on Independence FM started playing. It was perfect.
 
Yeah it was great fun. But I also enjoyed the one where you had to get some diamonds(and you fail). Forgot the name.

There should've been more missions like this one, or even better, side-missions where you have to do bank robbing.
 
Is that the mission where you have to go to the ruined hospital and you get amushed by about 40 police officers? If so, it was cool as **** but I found it well hard, and after the third time I found myself hating it.

I meant the one where you have to deliver off the girl you kidnapped, and are supposed to get diamonds


I found the ruined hospital one pretty easy, as you can shoot most guys from a nice distance+cover which makes it very hard for them to hit you.

No they are on about the Bank Robbery mission. The one you mentioned was cool though, but also bloody hard as you had to fight your way into get the Elizabetha's drugs and then fight your way out through all those swat team guys.
 
Oh yeah, I know the one you're on about Dinn. The game is slowly coming back to me but damn, I need to rebuy it.

Either way, it wasn't the SWAT team guys I had a problem with, it was escaping from the grounds on foot and in a car. I was constantly getting gunned down or rammed off the road. It wasn't until I learnt there was a boat moored up quite near to the hospital that I did it.

I had done the mission so many times I could clear the cops from the corridor in perfect unison, never loosing a scrap of health.

Regarding the bank robbery, though, I think I got the most enjoyment out of it because I pulled it off pretty perfectly the first time. It didn't lose it's originality that way and I haven't played it since. I look forward to a replay!
 
I loved the kidnapping missions as well
 
Well, actually there is a mission which I found harder: Catch The Waves.

This is the mission where you have to do a shootout in a magazin, and bad guys are everywhere which makes it very hard to find a good cover. If you don't act quick enough, the guy you work with(I forgot who) will walk in and die.

But it was no fun at all, because it isn't varied at all like Three Leaf Clover.
