offline mode works sometimes

okay yestorday i got it to work i played for about six hours then it was like 12:30 and i was tired so i turned it off and then turned of my computer then this morning i turned on my computer to play it so i put in the first disk and pushed play half life2 then a screen poped up and said cannot connect to steam start offine mode so i clicked on sart offline mode but then a thing pops up and says offline mode is not ready but i played it yestorday just freaken fine what is going on

Offline mode is very buggy so you can't really rely on it to work. Some people are lucky and have gotten it to work for considerably long times while others can't even get it to start.
