Didn't know where to post this, so its here.
I recently downloaded a mod of HL1 called Point of View (POV).
Anyway, to cut to the chase, I've installed it. First I installed it in the place it suggested, the Half-life folder.
When it didn't appear when I looked on both Steam and Half-life, I reinstalled in my Steam folder, but its not on the "My Games" section, I even checked in "My Media" for some reason, and its still not in HL1.
Before Steam, mods were on that option on the Half-life main menu.
Anyway, I saw a trailer for this mod (Shepards plane crashing, fighting beside Grunts and Vorts, duel-wielding Hornet gun, etc.) and got really excited, and this has really dissapointed me.;(
Can anyone please help me?

When you put it in your steam/steamapps/username/half-life folder, it should be loaded into steam next-time you open it up (restart to make sure). The only thing I can think of that could have gone wrong is that the POV archive contains a folder within a folder. In other words, if the path of the folder containing the mod is something like (I don't have the mod so I can't give you specific names) halflife/pointofview/pov, you need to get rid of the "pointofview" folder that simply contains the "pov" folder and nothing else (and is therefore superfluous).

Also, there is a Steam compatability patch available on the POV website that may help. The game will appear in the "My Games" section if installed properly.

on hl1mods there wasnt really a steam program so it would only place it in a half life folder you need to put it in the valve/steam/username/halflife folder
dont use the one it recommends

That Steam patch...hmmmm. I can't get it from where it is (thats way to much money for an account) so can someone please updload it?:stare:

He's talking about Fileplanet, which is the place that the Steam patch for Point of View is hosted.
Just click here (the original link to Fileplanet), then click the link that says "Don't have an account? Click Here to Get One!" (it's right above all the information about Fileplanet and IGN Insider subscriptions), then just proceed to fill out the information on the right-hand side of the page, after that you should be all set. Not sure whether or not they will send you an activation e-mail, but I assume that's the case, so just remember to supply a working e-mail address.
