Oh Half Life Source!

Oh Half Life Source! Why do you taunt me so! Downloading you for 344 minutes was hard enough to bare, but now that i have you whenever i try to play you, you look just like regular half life! And you have wierd purple and black pixels everywhere! Oh yea, and that wierd "Map number 0!!! Should be 19!!!" message!
Anyone know whats going on? Any help asap would be lovly!




EDIT: Ok ok, it turns out that it is only 42% done downloading and in info it says it needs a update... am i not supposed to be able to play half life source?? If it is realesed to the public then how can i update my game? Oh yea and dont make fun of me for wanting to replay half life before HL2

just wait, it will take a while to finish, if you notice right now steam is using something ridiculous like 11,000 of 13,000 Mb/sec, and normally it is down in the 5,000 range so its under a lot of stress = downloads are slow. when its done, the game should work fine.

Yeah that's how I felt too when it was downloading... But when I got it I wasn't that impressed. I really couldn't tell any difference other than player shadows (which you really don't pay any attention to anyways).. and the water. Other than that it plays and looks just like HL1 as far as I can tell. Don't get too excited :-\

Exactly what valve said it would be like

I havent tried it much but i did part of the hazard course. Some things i noticed different besides the lighting and water were the sounds and effects, both of which were similar to HL2's. I think i'll play it after i beat HL2
