My sister has just spilt a large volume of tap water over some important CDs that were in those paper and plastic wallets that you get. The paper got really wet and because it has some sort of sticky substance in it, has got stuck to the CDs leaving a sticky residue.

What would be the best thing to do?
Both for cleaning the CDs and punishing my sister.

Sticky eh? :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Get a smooth dry cloth and wipe em clean? :naughty:

hang em outside for the night.....hmmm as for the cds i dont know

If you mean it in the way most people on this forum will take it to mean, she's only 13.

Did you say 16? Am I the only who have heard 16?

poor vegeta, i guess get a wet paper towel wipe the CDs clean, dry them, and then use the leftover towels on your sister by slapping her in the face.

"Oh Reginald...I disagree!"

Aren't there CD cleaner/repairer thingamajigs you can get at the store?

Be careful with those cleaning kits, using one actually scratched my HL2 DVD to hell, but it started working again a few months later (the CD that is :P)

ALso be careful with them... my brother had one of the cleaner liquid containers explode in his face. Thankfully it was only one that had alcohol in it, not the other solution. I dunno why it exploded in his face, but it did.

Oh... 'Knickers' caught my attention.
Reburn the CDs?

Well, I've let them dry overnight and I'll try wiping them with a damp cloth later on.
And if you all want something to put you off my sister, I'll post a picture. Then you'll be sorry.

If you really want to.
Can you get pictures of the CDs though? Give us a better idea of their condition after they dry.
