I don't know where to start. I could go with the fact that every single person they interviewed was black which is saying something even if it wasn't intended. So 1 fast food restaraunt is out of chicken....go somewhere else. I like how it's always the person running the drive through who gets shit on, like he/she is solely responsible.

I'm allergic to chicken anyway, I have nothing invested in this...just thought it was funny.

I'd be pissed too if I drove over there to get 8 pieces of chicken for $4.99 and they didn't have any left.

right, but it wasn't as if the customers were entitled to this deal. I'd be annoyed too but I'd understand that it's not the drive through worker's fault this happened.

I like at the end of the clip where they play the audio of one of the angry customers saying "I will never come back here", etc...yes you will you cheap bastard.

I don't disagree with you. You can go to any area and find a few idiots that will over react to something. But the fact they happened to shoot this video in a black area of Rochester doesn't tell you anything about black people.

Yeah, I've gotten pissed to when there was some sort of special advertised, or whatever... and either they were out or that particular restaurant didn't participate in the nationwide thing...

There's nothing wrong about being fed up with it.

So parents aren't allowed to treat their kids to a fun meal from time to time and be upset when their plan fell through? They're doing nothing wrong.

Why are they complaining? This would just act as an excuse to go and eat somewhere with better food that is more expensive. But no, they have to have their meat which has arrived fresh from a chicken's anus.

Also, one thing I hate most about my job is when people come in and pitch a fit, no, a tantrum when we're out of something. It's a fact of the food industry that an establishment is going to run out of something, bitching and moaning isn't going to help the situation because we, the employees, are less likely to want to deal with your shit.

Oh lawd, popeye's is out of chicken, i cant go somewhere else to pickup some food or maybe even groceries to make dinner and my kids will starve, i blame everyone else, we'll all die of starvation, oh the humanity.

This is ridiculous...I love Popeye's, but if they're closed and these people want chicken, go to a goddamn KFC - they have cheap chicken.
 
Walmart, KFC, Subway, Wendy's, Arby's, Ted's, Taco Bell, Quiznos, Burger King, McDonalds, etc all have food available and most of these places have a drivethru.
 
What is kinda ****ed up is a reporter recording people having something bad happen to them. Stop standing around and go get some chicken! This is a crisis!

I think you guys are making this way overblown. They're just expressing their dissatisfaction for the camera crew, and obviously as such are probably going to be a little more expressive than usual.

Obviously they're not just going to go home and say, "Sorry kids, no food... they didn't have any." They're going to make other plans, just as people do.

Racism and the massive racial and socioeconomic poverty divide in the United States is hilarious? Do any of you realize that you were born of privilege and have had the education opportunities to afford the time and money to buy groceries and prepare meals with full featured kitchens? These are working class Americans who more than likely work multiple blue collar jobs above and beyond the 9-5 hour jobs just to make ends meet. Sure this newscast is sensationalist, idiotic and probably racist in it's presentation, but it's not exactly funny to me.
 
Most of them looked to be driving pretty nice cars.
 
Not sure about Ireland but the kind of car you drive here rarely entirely denotes socioeconomic standing - nor does owning a house around here (though the subprime mortgage crisis is putting a lot of people back into ghettos).

But that's the thing, rarely if ever do people own houses at all. Lots of people are being evicted from homes that they can't make payments on because of shoddy loans approved by fannie/freddie/citi etc. The same applies for car purchases and payments. We have a culture that emphasizes making purchases on money that doesn't exist -- and it's in the process of collapsing. If only it really were as simple as "if you have a nice house and car you're doing alright", but that's evidently and patently false. It's more than possible to own a nice car and home and not have enough money to keep the gas on or keep food on the table.
 
Everyone needs gold plated rims on their late model economy car. Then you can go sit in a Popeye's drive-thru for a bucket of discount chicken.
