Sorry, if I isult any of you hyper-religious people (if there are any)!!! But WOW! Barely five minutes alive and my thread is destroyed because this site doesnt "promote the use" of illegal substances! I dont know If I conveyed this across properly, but I wasn't questioning whether to promote drugs or not but rather whether the underlying issue, freedom of speech, was being stifled.

My issue is discussing of personal lifestyle choices in a mature manner being allowed. I never said anything along the lines of "your a stupid ass if you don't do drugs, and I won't want to be your friend!"

Really tho, I agree. Personal attacks, on some level, actually kind of hurt. And some people are more sensitive than others. And some people get angry, and retaliate, and while I can't blame them I can advise a better course of action. Tattle on them!

There is of course free speech .. but there is also acceptable boundaries of taste and deceny , morality and responsability to minors , minorities and others.


Free speech will always be tempered by the fact that you live in a much wider society and the simple fact is there are many many things which are innapropriate to talk about.

For example , you're having a picnic in a park somewhere with your kids and family. Someone starts a dicussion a few feet away away paedophiles , pornography any number of subjects.

Is that an appropriate thing to discuss in such a setting? No of course not : there are places for everything.

But for these forums we don't know truly what peoples ages are , or of what ethnicity and so on and so forth. It's a gaming site with a lot of leeway for discussing other things ( hence the offtopic forum in the first place ) but there are things which we deem to be innapropriate and we have to act on them ( in the context that this is a gaming site not reefers'r'us.com )

apart from anything else when you click I accept when you register you are agreeing to abide by our rules and our judgement of whats allowable and whats not.


I would sooo sooo soo dearly love to live in a society or be a member fo a forum where every single users and member can post rationally , and intelligently without going into personal attacks .. but as we've seen all too often that's not the case.
