Ok this is ridiculous..

I'm sick of having to validate my game every time steam updates. It takes about an hour to validate my game. This is the third time I've had to validate.

Come on valve, I bought a legit retail copy from EB, stop punishing me.

Ive only had to validate twice(one was for Cs:S). So im happy.

You should only have to validate once, if any. I'm getting sick of waiting hours upon hours to play a game that I bought with my own hard earned money (not to mention had it preordered since May 2003) AND have already validated twice. Valve should have it so that once you validate the first time, you don't have to do it again.

I bought the UK DVD - Installed it ok, registered it (took about 30 minutes) waited until "offline" mode said ok - ready 100% and have played it OFFLINE ever since - I haven't even bothered to update the last 2 patches yet as I am waiting for the sound one (even though I worked around it somewhat and am stuck into the game now). If I had it on a PC that is always connected to the net (such as my desktop) then I would probably have more troubles as steam would be harrassing me rather than detecting no cable and offering offline mode automatically.

So I hope when I do update things go smoothly and not mess me around such as the above post.
